Breakfast, Cape May OR 1900 Park Fare?

Another dilemma in the schedule.... lol

We are using Frequent Flier miles for our trip and due to our flight schedule we wont be able to make our Breakfast ADR at Chef Mickey's in June...

I have 2 other options since I want to plan one last Character experience to end our Mother/Daughter trip (No park day, departure only)

- 8:15 Breakfast ADR @ 1900 Park Fare

- 8:00 Breakfast ADR @ Cape May Cafe'


Has anyone done breakfast at either? both? Which do you prefer and why?

I am leaning towards Cape May because they have Minnie..... I really have my heart set on taking DD4 to Chef Mickey's for our departure day but I cannot find an earlier ADR yet (still searching and holding out hope)

Just need some help to make a plan "B" ADR just in case we do not find an opening for Chef Mickey's.

Cape May does not have Mickey. It's Minnie, Donald and Goofy in swimwear.

I have done both several times each and am a bit partial to Cape May. Its more low key (still lively and fun but not as crowded and noisy as 1900).

I love the food at both but think Cape May's food and atmosphere are a bit better. And if your dd loves Minnie, this is the place to go! Because its a bit less hectic (its also not as large) Minnie will have more time to spend with your dd.

We did Cape May on our last trip & really enjoyed it. Thought the food was great & plenty of it since it's buffet. Characters came around but I don't remember them staying very long. Restaurant seemed to be full though. We liked it enough to book again for our upcoming trip. We're also doing 1900 PF this trip & really looking forward to that. Sorry our trip is after yours so I can't compare the two. If it's Minnie that you're after though, Cape May is the choice.

1900 is quite noisy and crowded. Cape May is more low key. I prefer the characters at Cape May....I dont like any of the characters at 1900 except for Mad Hatter. So clearly my choice would be Cape May! And how can anyone resist Minnie, Goofy, and Donald in swimwear???

Total agreement with this. We also found the Cape May buffet easier to navigate compared to 1900.

It really comes down to where you are staying, if you are going to have a car on site or if you are willing to take a taxi to your reservation? It looks as if you are staying at Pop, so will you have a car or are willing to take a taxi? If you are, go with Cape May. When compaired to 1900 PF, Cape May is much less hectic. Also, as you said, Cape May has Minnie.

If you are relying on Disney transportation, I would go with 1900 PF. The EC area resorts are a real pain to get to in the morning if you are not staying at them. It requires either a bus to DHS then the boat or walking to BC or a bus to DTD then transfer to another bus to BC, both of which, unless you get lucky can take well over an hour. It is just easier to take a bus to MK then monorail to GF to get to 1900 PF.

Just as a side note, I personally really like the 1900 PF breakfast. The food is pretty good, the collection of characters from England (Mary Poppins, WtP, Tigger, Alice and the Mad Hatter) and the interaction (especially with Alice and the Mad Hatter) are great. You really can't go wrong with either choice.

I personally would prefer to travel a distance for a good meal and experience.

We've done both and I prefer Cape May for the food and interaction. It was less rushed. 1900 Park Fare was cool. Loved seeing Alice and the Mad Hatter. He was great, however, it was snap a picture, sign the book, "having a great time?" and gone.

Cape May they came by twice and Donald actually sat down and played with DS and DD17. DD hates Minnie so she left for that portion.

Transportation has nothing to do with our choice.

We will have a rental car and we are checking out before we leave our resort, will drive to our breakfast and then drive to the airport following our meal.

Just wanting to fit in one last thing for DD and am having a really hard time deciding. Had my heart set on seeing the "fab 5" one last time before we are sent home

Leaning towards Cape May, as we have never eaten here. I have tried 1900 Park Fare for dinner and hated it (This was either prior to the step sisters or they were off duty that night, back sometime in 05)

Thought I had it all planned out

now back to.... decisions...decisions....

For food, I would definitely choose 1900 Park Fare.

For characters, I would choose Cape May.

Having eaten at both I would pick Cape May. The selection of food was very good at 1900PF, but it was way too chaotic (and this was low season and a late ADR). The food at Cape May is good...maybe nothing to write home about, but the atmosphere, plus character interaction cannot be beat!

We have not done Park Fare for breakfast but do enjoy Cape May every trip. If you want to see Mickey he is also at O'hana which is also a nice breakfast served family style.

Transportation has nothing to do with our choice.

If that is the case and you want to see Minnie, go with Cape May. Also, don't give up on CM's yet. Keep trying. People cancel ADR's all the time. If you really have your heart set on all of the Fab5, I would go as far as checking the Disney reservation line daily up until the day you are coming home (including while you are at WDW). Make your ADR now and if something at CM's that works with your schedule comes up, you can always cancel the ADR you have.

We ate at 1900 last trip. The Mad Hatter was really great. The food not so much. We're going to try Cape May in Sept.

We will eat at both on our next trip, but if i had to choose one it would be cape may. we usually do cape may twice on our trips. it is wonderful and very relaxing.
