staying at AoA is it possible to eat breakfast at Landscape of Flavours Food court (opens 7am party of 2 adults 2 kids) and make it to Magic Kingdom (9am) for rope drop? or is it just too rushed? should we plan to just eat a quick meal in the room while we get ready?

if it's possible what's the quickest transportation? we aren't renting a car. We won't rope drop every day but probably our first day at MK

If you want to be at the front of the rope drop crowd (important if you want to rope drop Peter Pan or Mine Train without a crazy wait. Space Mountain too, but not as much as the other two), I would eat a meal in your room or bring food from your room to the parks. Not only is it faster but it'll save you a lot of money too. It was crazy how much money my group and I saved on our trip in May from making meals in our room to take to the parks with us rather than buying breakfast every day. We took a ride share to the Target in Kissimmee and bought groceries but you can also get groceries delivered to your resort.

When my group and I rope dropped MK, we were physically at the bus stop around 7:00-7:10 and we were at the front of the Tomorrowland rope drop crowd. The Fantastyland one was even more crowded by the time we got there around 7:45-50ish.

We always grab breakfast in the room when we want to hit the parks at rope drop. While the park opens at 9 AM, on-site guests will be admitted 30 minutes earlier. On top of that, they will have arrived 45 minutes or more prior to that early admission time. So you're looking at a sea of people who will have gotten to the park at 7:45 AM. If your goal is to be somewhere in the middle of that sea when the rope drops and not wayyyyy behind them, you're going to need to be at the AoA bus stop at 7:00 AM and not eating breakfast in the food court.

It's definitely possible but I wouldn't recommend unless you are speed eaters. If you are right down there at 7 AM get food, eat it quick and get out by 7:20 you are probably going to be OK but every minute late and you are burning time.

As far as quickest transportation, I would definitely take the bus which drops you off over near the entrance to MK. If you drive you to MK you actually park at the Transportation center, have to navigate a truly massive parking either on foot or by tram, and then wait in line for the monorail or ride a ferry across the lake. I always try to avoid driving to MK as it's completely unique as far as parking.

If the park opens at 9:00 then ETPE starts at 8:30. It is recommended you arrive at transportation 90 mins before ETPE begins so no, if you want to be at the front of the crowd you will not have time to eat at Landscape of Flavors.

Each minute you’re delayed after 7:00 at the bus will = longer lines for buses.

As others have suggested, if you can eat something in your room in order to line up at the bus at 7AM, will make all the difference.

We placed mobile orders at Contempo Cafe (at the Contemporary) for the earliest possible time, Ubered there, and ate as walked over to MK.

You got lucky that a guard let you through. I've had friends try that at the Contemporary and at the Poly and even though they had pressed "I'm here, prepare my order" and been charged for it, the guard would not let them through without an ADR or a hotel reservation.

Did the food courts not opening until 7am start after the reopening? I haven't been in 9 years and was shocked to see this when I started planning my upcoming trip. Didn't they used to be open by 6am?

What is someone that flies in and isn't making a grocery stop suppose to do?

You can always order groceries prior to your trip and have them delivered straight to the resort on your arrival day. There are several services that do this including Amazon Fresh, Instacart, Garden Grocer, etc.

You can also purchase non-perishable breakfast items at home and pack them in your luggage. Not ideal, but personally I would pack any items in my carry-on that sit underneath the seat in front of me on the plane so nothing gets squished.

Even when the food courts opened at 6am years ago, we wouldn’t eat there if we wanted to rope drop. Service could be slow or many stations didn’t open right away, so lines could form fast.

If we didn’t have groceries and when we had no car, we’d just stop by the food court the night before to pick up muffins, drinks, etc…. so we were ready to go in the morning.

I'm not sure how the food court at AoA operates, but the food court at POFQ, which I'm familiar with, opens at 7, but that's just for coffee, drinks, and pastries. They don't start serving hot food until 7:30. At least it was like that in May. So, even with mobile ordering, you wouldn't have your breakfast until maybe 7:40 or so. You'd be far far back in the ETPE RD line, which would mean no PPF or 7DMT for you.

We stayed at All Star Music. We would mobile order breakfast before 7:00, be at the food court at 7:00 to pick up our breakfast, eat at breakfast court and be out at the bus stop before 7:30 (with coffee in hand). We made it to Magic Kingdom by 8:00, got through security and in line for resort guests before rope drop. Having a good breakfast with protein was important to us (keeps the hangry away😊).

We stay at AoA a LOT and were just there in early June. If you want to rope drop MK, I don't think there is enough time to get breakfast at the Landscape of Flavors foodcourt and be at the gate or on a bus in time for a good spot for rope drop. When we rope dropped, we often would get pastries and other quick items the evening before Landscape closed so we could eat in the room or even waiting in the bus lines. Like other posters have said below, if you are driving yourself to MK, remember you still have to navigate the parking and transportation over to MK that adds more time. I'd have something in the room or seriously consider the buses for rope drop. Just my 2 cents.

Great Idea Smug........the busses start at 7:30 at AOE and if you get in line at 7:15 for the MK bus, you wont make the first one. The line will already be long. You wont get on until 7:50-8. Then by the time you get off the bus, go through security and get to the castle, it may be past 8:30am for the guest rope drop. Disney Mama, consider just eating a muffin, pop tarts or breakfast bars from home on the way to the bus. When we go to MK, we eat at Pinnocio's or Cosmic Rays at 10:30-10:45 and have the entire place to ourselves. There is nobody there and no wait. By 11:30 these places are packed. I know it is early to eat pizza and burgers at 10:30 but your kids have already walked close to 3 miles by then and will eat the food. Also, the food court at AOE will be crowded at 7am.

My group and I stayed at AKL Kidani and none of the food places were open by the time we were walking to the bus stop. We probably would've done what you did had we not bought groceries beforehand. If AoA rooms have a microwave, you can buy breakfast sandwiches to heat up in your room. Our room didn't have a kitchen but a microwave so that's what we did.

What if you did like granola bars in the room while you got ready? After entering MK and doing a few rides, then you eat breakfast in the park? The Nutella fruit waffle at sleepy hollow is not to be missed. We love it!

On super early mornings we usually grab something small from Starbucks or the food court the night before to eat in the morning.

Guests are at the entrance probably an hour before opening. We get there early and there is always a ton of people before us. I would also eat in the room or take something you can eat while you are waiting for the park to open.
