So anyone have pics... and stories. Is it buffet? Do you order? Give me the low down. ALso what is the price if you dont do that dinning option. and in your opinion do you think you get a better bang for your buck by doing the dining option?

Is there a Denny's or Ihop near by that we could do breakfast at also?

Thanks for all your time in helping out a newbie, that will be staying at the Pop Oct4th- Oct8th after our 1st Disney Cruise! :yay:

We just returned from Pop about 3 weeks ago. We WERE on the dining plan. There is no buffet at Pop. There are 4 "stations" that offer different things...one had waffles, cinnamon buns, some other things, another had pancakes, another was where all the egg stuff was and I can't remember the fourth. Anyway, you go through the line & get what you want. I know the cinnamon bun (which was warm & yummy) was about $2.50 and counted as a snack credit. My daugther enjoyed both the Mickey Waffles and the Choc. Chip pancakes (which came with applesauce, bacon, sausage and a milk or juice) and was around $4.50/$5.00...or one quick service credit). I had pancakes one morning and the adult QS credit breakfast was 2 or 3 pancakes, bacon, sausage and you get 2 drinks....coffee, juice, milk, soda. I think the adult meal was between $5 - $6 if I recall. Again, we were on the dining plan so I really didn't pay too much attention to the price.

We likes the dining plan (first time user) because everything was just pre-paid and I didn't have to worry about buying anything. Convenience of it was just nice for me.

All of the food we ate here was good. No complaints. Only tip, breakfast is REALLY crowded between 7:30 AM and 9:30 AM so either eat early and get to the parks, or sleep in, eat later and go the parks later.

I do not know if there is an IHOP or Denny's nearby as we flew to Orlando and used the buses.

We also were at Pop from 2/9-2/15. We ate breakfast at Pop each day. Our DS(9) got the scrambled eggs which came with appleasauce and bacon/sausage. I believe the cost of the children's meals are $4.09. I had a bagel with peanut butter (got to have that pb) each morning or a cherry turnover. There are toasters to toast the bagel also. The turnover was DELICIOUS. We made sure to get to the food court prior to 7:00 each morning. At home that's 6:00! A few of the places didn't start serving until 7:00 a.m. The station that served our son's breakfast platter and other adult selections which included a bacon/cheese croissant which was also good were serving prior to 7:00. You could definitely tell that it got more crowded the later it got. Hope this helps. Lynn

You can also get "dry" cereals, granola bars, whole fruit, cheese plates, milk, juice and the like at a refridgerated section towards the back.

I agree with everyone here - get there before 7am as it gets really crowded afterwards.

There are several breakfast options out on Highway 192. Golden Corral, Ponderosa, Sizzler all have buffets. I know there are Denny's. And there is an IHOP out there as well, There's also a breakfast place that we like called Sizzlin' Grill (NOT Sizzler). That's across the highwa from Old Town and is pretty good and never crowded becauae it's not a chain. Most breakfast buffets are less than $5 (I know the Sizzlin' Grill is $3.99).

To get to Highway 192 from Pop Century, go out the entrance to the resort and make a left. Go down to the next light and make a right. The Wide World of Sports will be across the light. This is Osceola Parkway. You will leave Disney grounds, go over I4 and see the Gaylord Palms on your right. At the light right after the Gaylord Palms (International Drive South), make a right. Follow I Drive down to where it ends. That's Highway 192. Make a left to get towards Old Town and restaurant choices.

Or, to go the other way, make a right at Osceola Parkway and then follow the signs for 192. Then go west on the Highway (towards Tampa).

Personally, I don't think it's worth the hassle of going offsite but that's me. The food court might be busy after 7:30 or so but remember that you can always get your food to go (even from the counters) and eat in your room.
Or - stop by one of the park's bakeries on your way out at night and pick up stuff for the morning.

How many Mickey shaped waffles are in the Kids Mickey waffles? Is it 1 Large Mickey or 3 or so Little Mickeys?

Thanks.

We were there in January and there were two small Mickey waffles in the kids plate. Also comes with choice of apple sauce or grapes and a drink (small milk, juice box). It comes in a Mickey shaped plate and there may have been something else in the second Mickey ear, but I can't remember. After the first day, I decided that the adult platters were more than I wanted for breakfast, so I got the kids plate too. It was just right for me. I can be a big eater, but when I know I might be riding Space Mountain or Tower of Terror shortly after breakfast, I don't really want a lot of food in my stomach. :)

We rarely ate breakfast. DH would go get a coffe, mayb a juice, but I borught breakfast bars and stuff like and hten did a bigger counter service lunch. We did the dining plan and jsut LOVED it. We are doing it again next week!
