Break out the bubbly and warn the waiters...she's coming back!

Awww..but think of all the stuff you desperately need that will be so much easier to acquire after a margarita or two LOL :rolleyes1

Margaritas facilitate all things. :thumbsup2

Okay I have been reading this exchange -- Tren-D was very cool! Margarita then Shop -- it is the ONLY way

Thanks for letting me know about the Margarita hut at DTD, we LOVE a good Margarita...

This one is really good. With a tequila floater on top. YUM-O!

Thanks for all the enabling and arm twisting... really. BUT I think I am really not going to be able to sneak out that weekend, ESPECIALLY since my dang Dh has his 20th HS reunion that weekend. MAJOR let down!!! :headache: Like I want to go to that.... now if I can figure out a way to say I don't need to go... well... :scratchin

OK. Go ahead and be responsible and a nice wife. ;)

GO to the WAVE!!!! If you don't do dinner, at least go to the BAR!!! EASY walk from MK to Contemporary for a "pick-me up" one night, then back!!!! ;)
Way cool interior..

Good suggestion! I will keep that in mind!! Maybe on MNSSHP night in my pirate gear. pirate:

The whole tea thing is FABULOUS... so get excited! How fun! We did High Tea at the Ritz in London back on our Honeymoon many moons ago... it was so lavish and NEAT!!!!

I want to know what it is like GF style, and on the same day as a pedicure ??!! :cloud9: Indeed!!!!

Originally this was just something Jen and Paula wanted to do but based on all the reviews I've read, I'm getting quite excited. And, yes, the fact that they serve champagne does contribute to that!

:rotfl: LOL!! Tempting offer! Believe me, very, very tempting! Especially because I had told DH that I was going to go alone in Oct but then changed my mind! But I'm saving that for next Oct! I have a secret trip planned in my head and plan to tell him "remember when I didn't go last Oct..." ;)

LOVE your strategy! Your poor hubby won't know what hit him! :rotfl:

Ive been to poly, acutally stayed there in March! But we didn't have a chance to watch wishes from the beach  Terrible I know! Especially because we stayed in an MK view room!!!!

Always fun to have things on the "next time" list! So would you say that a MK view room was "worth it"?

Anyway, definitely, definitely try a Lapu Lapu!!!! Soooo yummy! Very strong, but very yummy!!! Kona is great too!! Tonga Toast for breakfast and Kona Coffee :cloud9:

I hope to give it a shot! The Tonga Toast doesn't appeal to me :scared1: but real coffee certainly does!!!

The spa at GF is to die for!! I totally suggest getting a massage too! I had a massage there in March and it was WONDERFUL!!! I think I may make it part of every WDW vacation ;)

Good to know. I'm thinking about trying the Mandara Spa at the Swan/Dolphin on a different day for a massage! :thumbsup2

Where is the Margarita stand in DTD?! I need me some more margaritas!! I enjoy the ones in Mexico a lot!! Actually, in March I didn't make it too a Margarita in Mexico because we had started at the other end of the world! I had a giant headache by Mexico :sad2: Next trip we're starting at the Mexico side of the World!!!!

It's right on the water by where you rent boats. It's a little "shack" with it's back to the water and some table with umbrellas on the dock alongside it. You have to go down a few steps to get to it from the main walkway. You can see the view of World of Disney in the picture - that was taken from one of the umbrella tables- so hopefully that can help orient you too. I'm awful at giving directions!

Couple things.

One: 37 different kinds of tequila? WOO HOO! :thumbsup2

Two: What Adventurer's Club dinner? :goodvibes

I :lovestruc tequila! ::yes::

The Adventurer's Club dinner is a special event on Thurs 9/24 that is being hosted by the WDW Radio Show podcast (Lou Mongello). I have to confess that I never went to the AC when it was open so I'm not sure if some of it will be "lost" on me? But I am looking forward to hanging out with a bunch of Disney nuts!! :)

Oh, I love these lists, C, and I love that you will be experiencing so many new things on this trip! I have a feeling you are going to have an absolute blast!

I have the same feeling - especially since I get to meet you and Charles! And so many others! I really can't wait!! :yay:

I just had to heartily agree with this statement. ;)

Alas! I never went when it was open either. I'm really looking forward to reading about this in your trip report, having never been there myself! :goodvibes

Love the lists!
You are really knocking a lot off that resort list! :thumbsup2 Pedis and the tea in the same day sounds like an awesome day to me. Ahhhhh :cloud9: The tea is really fun-and the food is good. It's a great chill time to relax and talk, it's slow paced and you can savor your food. Often there is music being played in the GF lobby and it drifts into the room as you sit there with your ladies. Most every seat is able to see outdoors too, so it's fun to just look out and rest and soak in the Disney magic.

I hope to do this again in December with my Mother-in-law and Sister-in-law. No toddler. ;)

Cut back on vacationing?? :scared: Is Joe nuts? I love that you nod along knowing he doesn't really mean it! :rotfl2: And don't you think vacations are just enriched with the possibilities of meeting various DIS'ers. I really never ever dreamed of it but have made so many great friends here! :goodvibes

See ya next year! :upsidedow

Joe gets some crazy ideas sometimes. :sad2: Thankfully he usually wises up with a better idea. ;)

Yes! I love meeting DISers! I've only met a few so far, but hopefully I will make it to one of these "mammoth meets" at some point. And the whole cruise....that's gonna up my "Meet-A-DISer" count by 550 or so...

Your lists look amazing.

I'm so jealous of all of the alcohol though. You'll have to have extras for me! :rotfl:

The lists are amazing.....you gals are going to have such a great time!!!! I can't wait to live vicariously through your fun!!!!

We really can't wait either!!! I am so looking forward to all of our fun!

I'm so excited I'm giddy! :goodvibes

I'm looking forward to sharing it with you! The story of the Adventurer's Club not my margarita. You have to get your own margarita. ;)

I am crossing quite a bit off that list. I really can't wait! 500+ DISers on a cruise?! Wow!!

Well you're going to be there too, silly! You'll be having fun of your own! And hopefully we can meet up at some point!

Today marks 50 days until I am back in the World. :cloud9: Ahhh... I need it so much. And to mark the occasion, Mickey sent me some love today:

Of course I'd seen the pdf online but somehow it is different and much more exciting when it is in hardcopy and in your mailbox! :woohoo::yay::yay::woohoo:

I think the paper even smells good if I can share the depths of how sick I am.

I can't wait to sit down with it tonight and really study it.

50 days. That is SO soon (relatively speaking). I've been waiting since December. Can't believe it is really almost here!

I've found a lot of F&W events and food items I want to try. I'll highlight those in the next post! :thumbsup2

Before the online verison came out I was looking at last years booklet.....

I agree, so things are better in printed-hold in my hand-form!

I already know that I'm going to be all over that cheese booth. I'm thinking of grabbing a baquet in France to have with the cheese.

Nice book!! Did you have to request it or something? I totally get what you mean about even the paper smelling good!! I feel the same way when magical packets of Disney goodies start arriving before a trip!

At this point, the printed version is only available to TIW Cardholders. I tried to get one, but since I won't get my card until I arrive next month, it was a No Go. :sad1:

If you're a TIW cardholder, one will be mailed to you automatically.

Disney Mail! Nothing like it!

Enjoying reading, and sniffing, your book! :rotfl:

Great idea. I believe in the patisserie they also sell a combo cheese plate and baguette if you didn't feel like walking back around the lake to get your cheese!

Thanks. I didn't know why I received it, I was just happy to see it in the mailbox. Sorry they aren't able to send you one. :sad2:

Nope nothing like it. I haven't sniffed it again recently but I just may! I wonder if Magical Express mail smells good too! I will have to check that out when the time comes! :rotfl2:

I have studied the F&W festival guide. I am excited. And hungry. And just a wee bit thirsty. ;) I loved what the VP of Epcot said in his welcome letter:

“…may your journey around the globe be filled with memories that last a lifetime.”

I’m quite sure they will! And I cannot wait!!!!!

So let’s see… what am I hoping to try/drink/eat. Not necessarily in that order…

Festival Welcome Center – not only does it open at 9am (vs. 11am for the World Showcase) but last year it served a very economical glass of prosecco (sparkling wine). I think it was $4 vs. maybe $8 or 9 for a glass of champagne. I also liked shopping around in there. I’m a sucker for kitchen items… you’d think I actually used my kitchen at home :rolleyes1 This is also a good location to purchase your F&W wristlet gift card or add $ onto it. Cards can be loaded with any amount from $5 to $1,500! Could you imagine?! Oh to have that budget!!

I’m trying to decide if I like the graphic for the poster this year. I like that it has some of the World Showcase pavilions in it and that the chef is wearing crocs but otherwise am not sure it really goes with my décor. But I’d love to have a souvenir of the festival!

Flavorhood – I think the icecream area will be fun. Can’t wait to see what flavor I am!

History of Beer in America
– daily at 11:50, 12:35, 2:05, 3:35, 5 and 6:05. Have any of you tried this? Is it fun? :confused3

World Showcase Wine Walk - $20 for six wines Don’t even need fuzzy Disney math to justify that! Floss- you were wondering about German wines – the 2 from Germany on the walk are Valekenberg Madonna Spatlese and Valkengerg Madonna Liebframilch. Ever try either of those? And from Italy they offer Castello Banfi San Angelo Pinot Grigio and Castello Banfi Rosa Regale. From France it is Georges Duboeuf ouilly Fuisse and Chateau Tour de Segur Bordeaux.

New York State Wine Adventure – I’d like to check this out. I’ve visited a few vineyards on Long Island that I really enjoyed!

Beer Hop – I probably won’t do this but seems neat for those not necessarily wine inclined.

Celebrating Family & Friends in the Kitchen with the Deen Brothers
. I am somewhat disappointed that Paula Deen won’t be there but would still like to see “the boys.” Here’s the description:

A 3 course lunch celebrating the joys of preparing a meal with family and friends. The hosts will demonstrate how to prepare an appetizer, main course and dessert. A notable winery representative will pair each course with a selection of their wines.

Wish me luck – I’ll be on the phone at 7am on the 11th (is it terrible that I’v e already blocked my work calendar to ensure no meetings interfere with this terribly important task??)

Mexico Tequila Tastings- Fri, Sat and Sun at 3pm, $35. Not sure how to sign up for this? Anyone? This is held at the new tequila bar in the Mexico pavilion. I can’t wait to check it out. I love the atmosphere in there. I could spend an entire afternoon sitting there – all the better if whilst being served tequila!!

Come taste authentic Mexican tequila and learn about the history and traditions around its production from a true Tequila Master. Offers appetizer samplings of ceviche and toastada as guests embark upon their tequila flight.

Eat to the Beat Concert Series

Definitely planning on seeing Big Bad Voodoo Daddy on Sat 9/26 followed by dinner & Illuminations at Rose & Crown. :cloud9: MAY try to see Richard Marx as well?

Culinary demos - I am torn on these- have heard mixed reviews from people who have attended in the past. While I am there there will be demos from chefs from the following that might interest me:Garden Grill, Y&B Club, Mexico Tourism Board, Portabello Italian Trattoria (formerly Yacht Club), Chefs de France, Contemporary Hotel.

Items I will have to try:
Grand Marnier Parfait
Beef empanada w/ salsa- loved this last year
Grilled beef skewer with chimichurri
The Mouse Catch – cheese plus sparkling wine—does it get any better??
Mexico City Mexico – I like the sound of just about everything: corn tortilla w/ shredded pork and purple onions; corn tortilla w/ chipotle chicken; quesadilla con chorizo; mousse de pina colada
Manchego cheese in Barcelona Spain as well as tomato bread
Pork pot stickers
Seared beef tenderloin with sweet potato puree and mango bbq sauce
Apple strudel
Italian meatballs with traditional tomato sauce
Warm Pretzel Bread stick with cheese dip
Cabernet braised short ribs with mashed potatoes
Kerrygold Cheese selection with brown bread
Chocolate lava cake with Baileys ganache
Cheddar Cheese soup
Spanakopita
Corn and Cheese arepa
Ham croquetas
Guava cookie

Anyone want to take any bets on the weight gain? I’ll give a prize to whoever guesses the closest without going over.

Ok that list was a little freaky........because I picked out just about the same items to try. :woohoo:

Can I tell you how tempted I am to go to the D23 Expo? Except it is all the way in California. Just a few weeks before I go to Florida for F&W. But have you seen the line up of events??? I hope they do an event in FL sometime!
