Break from long day at Magic Kingdom

Only annoying thing is staying at the Dolphin means your bus picks up/drops off at the TTC, which means it’s less convenient at MK.

But you could pretty easily grab a Boardwalk resort bus and then walk from the Boardwalk to your resort.

Hitting the pool is a much better midday break, especially for the kids. Rejuvenating.

Plus you could change your socks and/or footwear, freshen up a bit.

We did long MK days when our kids were young and would take an afternoon break. I can understand the desire for a break especially from the heat but I would head back to your resort. We love the Swan/Dolphin and they have a great pool area. I just can't imagine taking our kids to a resort and "teasing" them with a pool that they are unable to use. That would have been torture to our girls on a hot day!! Take advantage of the beautiful resort you've chosen.

I would go back to your hotel for a little. By the time you take the boat over to the Poly or WL, you may as well taken the bus back to your resort. Adults can go to the bar. Let the kids nap/watch TV, or swim. Have a snack and go back to the park refreshed and ready to go!!!! Park open to close is a long day and you will all feel better with a small break.
ETA- didnt realize you had to go to TTC first. I would plan an Uber or Minnie van myself, just for the time saving aspect.
Also an option is Crocketts tavern at Ft Wilderness. Outside seating under a covered porch but there is a nice little playground and a beach for the kids to play and you can walk to the horse barn. BUT I still recommend your home resort and pool time
