I can just see Disney security trying to boot 6 or 7 hundred Brazilians out of the parks--
Never happen!!
Big International incident!!!
Headlines screaming how Disney hates Brazil!!!!
Oh, so true! :rotfl2:

Some of them use Fastpass.

We were there in December 2000. We didn't really have any negative interactions with them, but there was a time when we were headed toward Splash Mountain with our Fastpasses. We saw a horde of Brazilian teens headed in the same direction with their Fastpasses - my husband and I looked at each other and said "Run!" :moped: :rotfl: We managed to get ahead of the crowd.

I am interested to hear if anyone knows when the groups typically go to WDW. I'm planning a trip the 3rd week of August this year. We're not staying at a value resort, so we've got that going for us. :flower:

Last July were a lot of them. No lots in a group, a lot of groups! and we stayed with a couple of them in ASMo. I think they filled The Love Bug section with them, wich was cool cause they stayed over there (I was in Dalmatians). There was trouble cause the lines were more long but we didnt have any trouble with them aside that.

Does anyone know the reason for singing & clapping so loudly through the parks? Just curious. I mean, I'm excited to be at WDW too...I occasionally squeal when I see a character but, what's with drawing SO much attention to themselves?

:cool1:

Buzz2001, have you been in the parks with the Brazilian thugs? I have seen the Brazilians, Pop Warner kids and cheerleaders at WDW. The Brazilian groups are beyond kids being kids, they are vile. If a person says they(teen groups) are all the same, it is PC at its finest. Whether blaming the Brazilian's horrible behavior on lack of supervision or what, they are gross.

Been there, seen that.

My guess is that it's the attention they want and they act this way to get it.

I have to say we shared the bus from ASMo last July with a Brazlian group and they did not cause any disturbances at all :confused3 We shared a few rides. Maybe they were just tired lol.

Why they are here:
Winter School break in Brazil is June-July
Summer vacation: -December-January

The tours will usually come to Disney during their winter break.
I agree with the others who say that the brazilian kids are worst than other group of kids.

Let's just say that I am very happy that my children were born here...

Now, just because the kids are awful there is no reason to cheer against Brazil in the World Cup Soccer games.... you might as well cheer for us because we will win anyway :cool1:

I read somewhere that Disney has stopped advertising in Brazil. Althought that might not stop the groups now, but it may help in the future.

Some are the groups are rude, but most of the time that I have went I have enjoyed them. They are just party people singing all the time and my mother likes that. But that can be annoying too.
Plus, I practice my little (very little) portuguese that I know. We talked, between portuguese and their little spanish, about our shoes. All the girls had the same shoes (like tevas but cuter sandals) that I had.

FloridaMom, we always cheer :cheer2: for Brazil in the World Cups, as you said most of the time they win.

Been there, experienced them! However, we were there in October. At TestTrack, the CM let them ALL in the fastpass line and they did NOT have fastpasses. We were told that October was a school break. Just how many breaks do they have? :confused3
They seemed totally unaware of their "position", they would run over people, or walk backwards into others, step in front of people. It was really weird to watch them, they actually acted like a drunk person would.

My SIL is Brazillian and talks all the time about how awful these groups are. She and my BIL avoid Disney when they are going to be there. She told me it's a rite of passage type thing akin to American teenagers going crazy on Spring Break. She said that the rude, obnoxious behavior is just assumed to be part of the trip. The kids come back and talk about it at school and so encourage the next group of kids. They are well aware that they will be able to get away with it. She has several nieces and nephews who weren't allowed to go because the chaperone to kid ratio is so huge. There is very little supervision and even less enforcement of any kind of rules.

I hope this group is not there May 8-May 15th. I might just have to learn some naughty Brazilian words. :earboy2:

They sing and clap because they're happy and they're having a good time. Thats just a cultural difference - people from different places behave differently. I went to a World Cup Soccer event in Foxboro, MA and witnessed that sort of behavior. There's nothing wrong with that - I actually find it almost refreshing - its just different.

These Brazillian tour groups are nothing new - I remember seeing them in the parks in the 80's. I don't remember the sort of rude behavior I see described here, but that doesn't mean it didn't happen. But I guess my point is that they've always been there and they always will be. If you let anybody else spoil your vacation, well thats as much your fault as it is theirs. Try not to take everything so seriously.

Right is right, and wrong is wrong. I don't care what country you are from, everyone knows when to practice common decency.

I too have encountered the "Brazilian Groups" and they are very rude.

Ron

I remeber when i went in 95 and 97 they were everywhere (this was July/August by the way) all the trips i've taken since then have been Brazilian teenager free thankfully.

That's a shame that they allow these unruly kids to behave in that manner. Let one of them bump into me or knock over one of my kids. There's gonna be a serious Problem. I will put their little bad butts in their place.

I do not think they should be able to push and shove-especially little kids. If they have a different culture then they should practice some of our culture while they are here. I have never witnessed this first hand, but I believe what everyone here is saying. It is rude to be obnoxious, overly loud, and definitely unacceptable to shove and push.

I know! I completely agree!

Well of course not. And if one of them pushed my daughter, I'd probably end up being ejected from the park for beating them. But I'm not going to let it ruin my day if I see them cutting in line or just being overly being bositerous.
