I agree. WS especially should be less theme park / more world showcase. Maelstrom should be the extent of outright thrills, IMO. I could go for a log flume in Canada but coasters fit and are needed elsewhere more.Although it could be successful, it can be argued that a roller coaster (or extreme thrill rides) has no place in Epcot. The parks' success was built on sedate, family-friendly dark rides like Spaceship Earth and Journey into Imagination. With the exception of a simulator and the mildly thrilling Maelstrom, it wasn't until Test Track and Mission Space that the park really gained a "thrill ride" - dismembering much of Future World at the same time, leaving the park in the sad, stale, neglected state in which it exists today.
I'm just not sure it is a good fit for World Showcase especially. You wouldn't put a river raft ride in Tomorrowland or an Autopia in Frontierland, so would you really want to have a major coaster racing in and around Brazil, France, or another pavilion in World Showcase? Again, while there are perhaps some possibilities, in most cases a coaster just doesn't fit thematically in World Showcase, nor do such attractions necessairily hold the greatest appeal for many Epcot guests.

I disagree WS needs a major E-ticket.
We all get an opinion.![]()
My point is simply that our difference's of opinion's is what makes a good discussion...At least that's what I thought.Yea what's your point? My opinion disagrees with yours.

Ok no problem you are correct by the way.
If not a coaster I think we need something new and not another boat ride. You could always do an EMV ride or KUKA![]()
Wait, didn't I say we needed something that wasn't another boat ride?

The problem with an e-ticket in WS has nothing to do with theming, and everything to do with money and logistics. WS doesn't open until 2 hours after FW. Adding an e-ticket that's not open at park opening will frustrate guests, and opening WS 2 hours earlier than it opens now will cost a LOT of money each day in employee hours. It's unrealistic to believe that WS will ever get an e-ticket.
You live in Rochester, no exactly po-dunk...I think you made a poor comment and are now trying to defend it.
Yes, World Showcase is in desperate need of an E-ticket. It arguably just doesn't need a roller coaster or other (more extreme) thrill ride. Not all E-tickets are thrill rides (Pirates, Spaceship Earth, etc.), though many people do think of it in those terms.
World Showcase used to keep the same hours as Future World, and if demand warranted, it certainly could do so again. Indeed, the addition of a new country with the inclusion of an E-ticket attraction (and ideally including an A, B, C, or D ticket(s) to 'flesh' it out) could really pull crowds into all parts of World Showcase earlier in the day, creating a rationale to open it with the rest of the park.

Sure. WS COULD be opened at the same time, but it's unlikely that Disney will do that. If they are going to put a new E-ticket in Epcot, it's going in FW. It's much more cost effective for them to do it that way.
Really, if they add an e-ticket, will it matter to the average guest attending whether it's in WS or FW? I doubt it. And if it doesn't matter, why put it in the area of the park that requires dozens of extra employees for 2 hours every day? It just doesn't make economic sense.
I'm not saying you won't ever get another ride in WS (although you may not).
I'm just saying you won't ever get a super-headliner.

Has there ever been discussion of locating a Disney park IN Brazil? Europe and Asia have their parks but there isn't one in the southern hemisphere. I would think Brazil would be a very good location to build a new park.
