Brazil to be added to WS?

I am well aware that, from the start, your concern was how the average American would perceive Brazil, not your personal perception.

That said, allow me to ask my question again: What possible country could be added to World Showcase that would be seen as "different to the ones already there," based on your comment that Mexico and Brazil would be perceived as too similar?

Australia? country/continent located hundreds of miles from anything else, kind of unique?

A couple of reliable sources on the magical WDW board have somewhat confirmed this is being looked into, but nothing final yet...

I feel like to the Average American (not me personally), Mexico and Brazil are TOO similar. If Disney was going to add a new country, they would try to add a country that is different to the ones already there. (even though many Americans clump China, Japan together and those countries both have a pavillion.

Even if the average American did, the USA, UK and Canada are much more similar than Mexico and Brazil...

To be fair to th previous poster the average american does tend to think anything brown is mexican. Throws them for a loop (locally) when our brazilians pop up blonde hair/blue eyed or japanese.
Fyi I think and have previously said brazil would be great in the ws. If not brazil then another bric country. India or russia would be ther other 2 choices.

Another reason Brazil makes a lot of sense is because they're going to be hosting the summer Olympics in 2016 and their international visibility is already rising because of that. Something like this would be a logical step to continue to promote their country.

Well maybe Brazil will just have a temporary cultural display of some sort at the international outpost or whatever its called.

And a REAL ride. Not like Mexico. something like Maelstrom AT LEAST
:thumbsup2

I disagree and I like GFT!! But the ride needs to be thrilling. I say a SSE type dark ride that the ride vehicle is like RnRC. You get 5-7 minute dark ride that turns into a coaster through the Amazon.

GTF? also SSE?

However I do like the Amazon Coaster idea. Epcot is now the ONLY WDW park without a roller-coaster of some kind. MK has Space, BTMR, Splash (the laughing place drop in the dark is coaster track), and soon it will get the 7 dwarfs mine train. DHS has RnR, and AK has EE and Primeval Whirl. Epcot deserves some kind of roller coaster type ride.

Although it could be successful, it can be argued that a roller coaster (or extreme thrill rides) has no place in Epcot. The parks' success was built on sedate, family-friendly dark rides like Spaceship Earth and Journey into Imagination. With the exception of a simulator and the mildly thrilling Maelstrom, it wasn't until Test Track and Mission Space that the park really gained a "thrill ride" - dismembering much of Future World at the same time, leaving the park in the sad, stale, neglected state in which it exists today.

I'm just not sure it is a good fit for World Showcase especially. You wouldn't put a river raft ride in Tomorrowland or an Autopia in Frontierland, so would you really want to have a major coaster racing in and around Brazil, France, or another pavilion in World Showcase? Again, while there are perhaps some possibilities, in most cases a coaster just doesn't fit thematically in World Showcase, nor do such attractions necessairily hold the greatest appeal for many Epcot guests.

Really? I count 3 Coasters planned for Epcot. Including a Rain forest coaster! :cool1:
