So, I have been waiting for the "right" time to start back on my WW plan and really try. I think today will be the day. So far, I've done fairly well for the first day back OP. I've been going to the gym once a week for the past month or two! I know, that's terrible, but better than not at all, right? My DS (2 1/2), did not sleep last night- at least not until about 5 AM!!! I didn't have the heart to make him go to daycare as it was to be his first day at a new one. I didn't want him sleepy all day and cranky- not a good first impression! So, I stayed home with him. It's been a long day. I'm not letting him nap so he'll sleep tonight and he's a little cranky.
Well, here's my stats and history. I am currently 5'6" and weigh 175 pounds. I was a dancer all the way through college and always had what I thought were big legs and always thought I was big. But, I really wasn't- I was actually in great shape and had a great body. when I look back at pics, I'm so jealous! I've never been skinny, but I had a great figure that was healthy and fit. So, got married in 2000 and had gained a little to that point- was at about 135-140 then. In 2002, I had my son, Alex. Had gained weight b/f getting PG and was up to 173 b/f even getting pg. I only gained another 13 pounds while pg, so not too shabby. I ate really well while pg and thought about everything I put into my body. After I went back to work, I decided to get serious and joined WW online. I did pretty well and got down to about 160 fairly quickly. Well, got a little cocky and putit right back on. Since then, I've gone up and down between 165-175 for the past 2 years. I really want to do this, though. I do plan on another child, but not for another 6-12 months b/f we even start trying. I'd like to be healthier when I get pg this time.
Here are my struggles: I love to cook and to eat! My Dh is quite thin and has no problem with weight, nor has he ever. He doesn't understand why I can't just lose the weight. Doesn't understand why I don't have much willpower. He also wants me to excercise, but not if it inconveinences(sp. sorry!) him. He has been doing better by agreeingto pick DS up from daycare on MWF. I always make it to the gym on Mondays. By Wednesday, I sometimes make it. I never make it on Fridays! I am a morning person and would so much better if I could work out in the mornings, but there is no way! I'd have to get Ds to daycare when they open at 6:30. then go way back to the gym and I'd never make it to work on time, still! Oh well. I will work on the afternoons more. Plus, when I work out, I am usually home late enough that Ds had been fed so I can eat better.
So, today's day one and here's what I've had:
B-fast- none- i know I should eat it, but there's nothing I really like. Plus, I'm low on food, so I'll do better when I can get to the store!
Lunch- White rice and pinto beans- yep, low on food! LOL - but ds loves this and he ate it up, so that's ok. For points, it was 12 total! For snack, I had a slice of apple and a tblsp of peanut butter. I'm at 15 points. So, i have 7 left for dinner. I am baking a cornish hen. I think I will slice it up and put it on a salad. I won't make it to the gym, though. I do plan on going walking with Ds and DH after dinner. I hope to get Ds worn out so he sleeps tonight!!
OK, so that's enough for a day, right? I will try to keep this up. Comments are welcome!

So that was a week ago and I did horribly! I get so busy at work and just forget and don't get things done like I should. I live by the words "I'll start next week." Enough is enough. I am actually proud of myself this morning. I am off this week, so maybe I can make some headway and plan some meals and go shopping for good foods. This morning I grabbed some powdered donuts and then thought better and got an apple instead. So, I'm eating an apple for breakfast- that'll save some points! My neice is staying the week with me and we are suppose to go to a water park tomorrow. Yikes! You think I can lose 30 pounds in a day! LOL If I would have stuck with this a month ago, I'd be much better off! That's ok, I have my goal of September and the only way I can get there is to take it day by day. So, toady, we will have grilled chicken for lunch. Maybe sandwhiches for the kids. I think I'll do some grilled chicken with rice and peppers. That should be good. I'll have to look up the points. I could do brown rice since I have a little, but then I'd have to make some white rice for dh, too. Maybe I'll make just a little and make sure I measure so I don't eat too much. We can grill some pork chops for dinner with some corn and potatoes. That should be ok, right? If the rain clears up, we can go for a walk, too. Both Ds and DNeice need to start walking to get ready for the walking we'll do in Disney World. OK, meal one is almost down- and not too shabby, either. My goal for today is to plan each meal and not to snack in between unless the snack is a fruit.
 
So since I'm home today, I will probably post more than normal. I did pretty good for lunch, I think. What do y'all think? Lunch was baked chicken with rice and corn on the cob. I don't use butter or anything like that, so the points are pretty good. I am on my 3rd glass of water, too. My glass hold 12 oz, so that'll be 36 out of my 64 needed- not too bad, eh? I have been reading everyone's journals and I am so impressed. I think my mindset has changed today and I will really do it this time. We'll see, won't we?

Best of luck to your on your journey! The most important thing you can have is a commitment to stick with it. You're going to fall many more times than you could have imagined, but the victory is in getting up, dusting yourself off, and trying again tomorrow. You can do it! :cheer2:

I'm new here too...just got here on May19th...I've lost 11.5lbs so far, and YOU CAN TOO!!!

BEST TIPS I HAVE FOR YOU:

1. Post here DAILY..what you ate, what you did (exercise), what you drank (water), and for encouragment!!!

2. Plan your meals ahead

3. EXERCISE everyday!

4. Drink that water! :)

THAT'S what i'm trying to do....seems to be working like a charm!

Thanks Jen and Pearlieq! I've been reading both your journals and you are both keeping me motivated! SO far, I've had about 52 oz of water- so that's good for me- I've been going potty like crazy, though- LOL! Flush out the fat!
 
You're doing GREAT at getting back on plan! It is SO hard when you have kids - even bigger ones! Hang in there and just keep starting over....even little thing add up to big progress eventually!
 
Thanks Julie- I am pretty proud of myself today still. I went and looked back at what my eating was like when I was doing so well on WW and what I saw was that I ate much more and more "bad" things than I recalled. so, that gives me hope. As of now, I've used all but one of my points for the day. I didn't do any formal excercise, but I've been doing laundry all day. Plus, we played with water guns outside with our DS, DN and the neighbors and their kids. I ran around a tiny bit b/c I didn't want my white shirt to get soaked. Tomorrow will be water park day with DN. I think I will get tons of excercise in with all the stairs and walkingdup and down them. Of course, I will have to eat whatever they have there for lunch, which probably won't be the healthies of selections. I think I'll make up for it, though. So, it's 7:45 PM my time and I'll have no more food tonight! Maybe popcorn if we decide to watch a movie, but nothing too bad, and we don't use butter. I've had all my water, too. Yay! Thanks for the support guys- being accountable even to people I will probably never see, helps a ton!

I don't have kids, but I babysit and I know how you feel! You're doing great. You oopsed today. Tomorrow is a clean slate. Do your best because it's the only tomorrow you'll have! Speaking of which, which Jen are you talking about?

Hi! Welcome to the boards!

Have fun at the water park...I agree, great exercise running up all those stairs. I might have to schedule that when it gets crazy hot here in TX (which should start in a few weeks, unfortunately).

This board is really motivational...I love reading other people's journals and really get inspired by them! I've been at it since Feb. and I've been amazed at how daily posting keeps me on track.

Ahh, the joys of drinking your water...

I always wondered if you could count all that rushing for the washroom as exercise! :teeth:

Good morning guys and gals! I am off to a roaring start! Got DS to daycare, which was no easy task since his cousin and I are going to the water park. But, he did ok when he got there, so now I am just waiting for it to be 9:30 so we can go. This morning, I warmed up someleftover chocolate donuts with sprinkles- my fav!! for my neice and didn't even eat the extras!! Instead, I had some cheerios for a lovely 2 points! Yay me Yay me! And I should be finished with at least 24 oz of water by the time I get going this morning. I wonder if they'll let me bring my water into the park? We'll try. So, I did look at their website and saw what they have to eat. They do have a chicken ceasar salad, but I'm not sure that's too good for me anyway. Maybe they'll have grilled chicken or something. I just hope I don't get burned in the sun. It's actually quite cloudy today, which I know is when most folks get burned the worst. I will slather on the sunscreen before I leave and then again once we get there. What else am I forgetting?

I really want to thank you all for posting- it's very motivational for me to be accountable to someone. And I love reading everyone elses journals. There's just not enough time in the day to read them all!! OK, well, I'm off to catch up on you all and then to get soaked. Y'all have a wonderful day!

You're welcome! Yes, I was referring to not exercising. If you run around a lot and take the stairs, you should be fine. And everyone needs a cheerleader! (You can call me Tiger. Us Jens get pretty confusing after awhile!)

Y'all are so awesome with the support! Well, as you can tell, I am back from the waterpark. No grilled chicken, but I did eat chicken. And Dippin' Dots- but I got a small- does that count? LOL- believe it or not, I am still within my points with all of the running I did today. I only counted 3 APs, but I know I got more than that! Plus, we will go back in about an hour because they have another side which is a theme park-like side. So, DN of course wants to go back for that!! That'll be lots more walking I have had avout 54 oz of water so far today, so I will definately be getting that in- oh that reminds me- I didn't drink a Coke today at the waterpark! I drank my water. And, I feel decent because I wasn't the largest Mom there- In fact, I was one of the smaller ones- not small, but still. So, that was nice. OK, well I am getting a no-caffeine headache & will go grab an advil. Thanks again ladies and I'll chat more later!!
