We just bought at DVC BCV. We really want WLV, but that is sold out. I'm assuming that we can book WLV at the 7 month window-Is this usually true? How can I buy WLV if it is sold out?

Yes you can reserve at any other DVC resort at 7 month window.

There are two ways (that I know of) to buy into VWL: 1) buy a resale (this is more likely option) 2) get on waiting list with your sales guide and hope some points come available from default or them buying back using thier right of first refusal

Actually, I would check with your guide. VWL is still available for add-ons for many use years for current DVC members. Now that you have bought in, you might be able to get an add on.

Is it difficult to get what you want at the 7 month window? Are they usually sold out at 7 months. I'm just a little worried that we won't be able to stay where we really want!

Flexibility and patience can be a key in getting what you want. At busy times of the year, accomodations at some of the smaller DVC resorts can be difficult to come by but it seems like those who call right at the seven month window are often successful either immediately or through the waiting list. Be persistent, plan ahead, and have options and things should work out. Also, follow the general advice that you should buy where you plan to stay most.

Another option is to "trade" ressies with a VWL owner. You make a ressie at BCV for the VWL owner and the he/she makes one for you at VWL. That way you both can have the advantage of the 11 month booking window. I'm assuming that since BCV is new, there will be quite a few VWL owners who would like to try it out. If this option appeals to you, I'd suggest you post on the Rent/Trade Board to find someone willing to trade. Good luck and
