im brand new to this particular thread and I need all the help i can get:)

I already posted this in the theme park attraction/stratigies thread, but the more advice the better.

so it goes like this: I turn 21 in june and I need to get away from normal life. haha. I REALLY want to go to Disney World for my bday and I wouldnt mind it in the LEAST if i did a solo trip there. That's how much i like it.

My questions for you all are:

1. What's the avg price for a value hotel?

2. Is doing Disney solo a good idea? can you give me pros and cons?

3. Do you know of any money saving tips I could use?

*note::: I would be going to the theme parks. I would not mind going on rides by myself. I'd actually prefer doing disney solo cuz then i could do whatever i want when i wanted to do it

i guess im just looking for some ideas.

I've done a few solo trips and loved every minute of them - will try and help you out...
1. Value resorts vary depending on season. I nabbed an AP rate of $74/night at ASMu for my upcoming May trip. Also AAA has discounted rooms at the values, depending on your dates.
2. Doing WDW solo is a great idea - it's all about YOU!! Sleep late, or head out early. Ride your fav ride over and over, or try them all out. Eat where you want, when you want. Want to just hang by the pool? Go for it! I think you get the idea by now...
3. Money saving tips: I usually bring a bunch of snacks with me and have my big meal at lunch if dining at a TS restaurant - can be cheaper than dinner. I also stay away from all-you-can-eat buffets - too much food and they can be expensive. I also bring my own water.
That's all I can think of for now - HTH!!! :upsidedow

We are paying around $85 per night at the All Star Movies during FREE DINING in August. Worth every penny to stay on property as you can take advantage of early opening hours and open late hours in the parks. Plus staying on property entitles you to free airport transportation and the use of all Disney transportation.

The free dining offer is one of the best deals out there! Don't know when you plan to go but August 26 thru September 22 (including check-in on the 22) is free dining with resort stay and a minimum purchase of a 1 day Magic your Way ticket.

P.S I order bottle water and soda thru Garednegrocer.com and have it delivered to the room = HUGE $avings!!
