hey there

we too are new members, and havent recieved our code to accivate the web site. We bought on 30th sept, and I'm dying here, wanting to book our BLT trip for sept next year, so I'm withing the 11 month window. We live in australia and thus the phone call to MS would be very expensive....any hints on how to contact them via email without getting into the DVC site....HELP!!!
I'd hate to miss out on our dates just because of a little thing like a code.We have the ID......
Also, does anyone know how hard it is to get a studio @ the california disney villas in sept ??? using the 7 month window???

Our UY is feb and we got 160 points bonus when we bought 160, so 320 is in our account...I think

looking at booking hilton in hawaii oct 2011 as RCI, has anyone had experience doing that??

You don't need your online activation code to make a reservation. If you're buying/bought direct through Disney you can actually call MS to make a reservation as soon as they have your member number in the system.
You can make a reservation using an online request form. Because it is only a request form you are not making an instant reservation - the request is sent to MS for processing then they will let you know if you resort and room you want are available for the days you want; I think it can take a minimum of 48 hours, but not 100% sure on how the process works since I have not used this feature.
Until DVC has online (instant) reservations set up (hopefully in 2011), the best way to make a reservation is calling MS because they can make your reservation during that call or set you up on a wait list. I would think during this call you could also get your activation code for the website.

I don't have an answer to your 2nd question regarding VGC. I can tell you at the end of May I was not able to get a studio for all the days I wanted for what would have been this week (10/24 - 10/29), although I wasn't expecting to with it being close to Halloween. Yesterday, I was able to change my studio to a 1-bedroom at VGC for the beginning of May 2011.

If you bought direct through Disney try calling your guide and see if he/she can help you. When I talked to our guide in August he had told me that if we signed up then he could get us into a 1 bedroom at BLT for our October trip. Of course we didn't sign up then and took our trip as planned. But when we met with him on our trip he told us to make sure we called him to set up our first stay and he would help us get into what we want.

Interesting. We joined in mid-September and our UY is Oct. When I inquired about getting a different UY when I called Quality Assurance, they said it was tied to the time of year you join DVC directly and they couldn't give out other UY. Not sure if it makes a difference for us anyway right now.

We purchased in Mid September and got a UY in March. We have a small contract of 100 pts. (no 2009 points for us) at BLT and do plan on adding on within a year or hopefully sooner...whenever we get the money to. We are taking our first trip as DVC members in May and are staying at BCV. We cannot wait .
