So sorry to hear about your trip, Kathy! But I want to send out another THANK YOU to you.

I called CRO yesterday to ask for Cabanas to be put on our reservation as a request. The CM told me that you could only get Cabanas if you paid for a water view room! :scared1: She told me that she had actually been yelled at for doing otherwise! Thanks to you, however, I knew that wasn't true, so I challenged her. She put me on hold while she called the front desk at CSR (I'm assuming that CRO members can actually get to the front desk), and got the correct info (after I held for close to 10 minutes - happy I have unlimited long distance!). So it's a request - and yes, I know it's just a request.

So THANKS again! :worship:

I really don't know. I believe they started it around May 4 or so. Each building, I'm told, takes about a month to finish. JamesLynn should be back on by early June (she's on vacation at Disney with her family) and maybe she can gie us an update.

OK, thank you!!! :)

:banana::banana::dance3: 9 days til we leave:dance3::banana::banana::banana:

Originally we request Casitas 4/5 but now I know for sure I will ask for 4 and if they can't give us that, we'll make do. I will not cry! It would be cool to try one of the other sections anyways, I just love bus stop 2 lol

EtA: Kathy sorry to hear you have to cancel, but just look forward to one in 2010!!

I think Kat will make it a priority to make it to CSR in 2010. Not if 2009 would just be over already! LOL

Here's some pictures from our stay last week. I've got plenty more!

Beautiful....just beautiful! Thanks for sharing...only 24 more days!!!!:cool1:

My DS 11 and I (along with friends) are going to Orlando in June for a Bible Quizzing comp. We were booked for an off-site hotel, but just switched to CSR with the AP rate :cool1:. I'm so much more excited now! We're sneaking in a few days to the parks before and after the comp. I was wondering one thing though - Can we rent a car just for a couple days at the resort? We were hoping to mostly use Disney transportation other than the days we need to be at our event.

We just returned last Monday from a eight night stay at Coronado Springs. We were one of the families that usually stay at the Pop Century (2 prior trips) and changed to a moderate this time.

First off, let me say that we love the Pop Century and its energy--it was difficult to switch. We were there when our kids were younger but... now that our kids are older and since it was our third trip to Disney we wanted a little more "R&R " along with the parks.

Well we got what we were looking for. This resort is so peaceful. We requested and got an upper level room in Cabana 8A. The pool was literally steps away and we visited it all eight days. The kids loved the pool and one of my daughters went down the slide 20 times ( she counted) on our last pool day. The bus stop was also steps away and was an absolute dream. It was quiet and covered with a seating area.

We loved the new room, the queen beds, and the beautiful wood dividing doors. The kids loved this place from the moment we arrived. They loved sitting on the hammocks and I took turns taking each of my daughters down by the hammocks at 7 in the morning and relaxing with my morning coffee before the day began. I also had some days alone sitting by the Cabana lake with my coffee and it was a calm start to the day.

We had 4 full days in each of the parks and some days by the pool. The weather started in the low 80's the first half of the trip and moved up to 87-88 degrees near the end of our stay-- with no rain. The crowds were not bad at all. We also visited downtown disney and went to the Poly to rent sea racyers and have lunch. This was one of the highlights of the trip since my daughters were old enough to drive the sea raycers. I would recommend visiting the Poly and renting sea raycers if you have older kids.

All in all, the verdict is that the entire family wants to stay at the Coronado again if there is another Disney vacation in our future.

Thanks for your post...my family loves Pop Century but we decided to do CSR this time mainly for the pool with the slide. We are very excited and hoping to get Cabanas section too.

Just got back from CSR today... it was nice. We are tired. I will update pictures tomorrow.

Well I am off in about 10 hours, our flight leaves Dallas at 7 am, hope to have lunch at pepper market at 11 am. Then off to AK for the day. I cant wait

Have a marevlous time. Be sure to lay in the hammock with coffee or a drink for me. :goodvibes

So here is my review of CSR. We just returned last night.

I highly suggest online check in.... we breezed right past the normal check in line when we arrived. We were given our room assignment. Cabanas 8B 8580 to be exact (parking lot view) in the back of the building. The CMs gave us some "1st Visit" buttons and we were on our way. We made the trek to our building. The room was clean and freshly renovated. The view wasn't great, but we could keep track of the busses going by from our window. The beds were absolute HEAVEN. So comfortable. We slept great. The sliding doors between the bathroom and the beds were a major plus, it allowed me to get dressed and ready without waking up the kids. I will say that the toilet flushing was a nuisance. I heard EVERY toilet in the whole building flush all night long. I think 8B was a fairly packed buidling.. most of the rooms were full, either that or I was in in the room with all the pipes. It was driving me CRAZY!!! My little one thought the toilets flushing was my husband's stomach. She would say, "Is that your tummy? Are you HUNGRY?" She said it everytime. It was pretty funny.

The busses were ok, this was our first visit so I have nothing to compare it to. They were hit or miss, sometimes we would hop right on, sometimes we would wait 20 mintues. We couldn't buy a bus to Epcot. We were at bus stop four (usually the 3rd stop) coming home from the parks so I always had sleeping children by the time we got to our stop.

The Pepper Market was the best counter service food we had during the whole trip. The fajitas and quesedillas were wonderful. I don't get the tipping the waitress thing for simply seating us and bringing us soda in a disposable cup. :confused3 But the food was great so I guess it was worth it. We had no problems figuring out the system.

The pool was the highlight of the resort for my kids. They LOVED the slide. I happened to LOVE the mojitos at the pool bar. :thumbsup2 There were a fair number of families at the pool, but also alot of adults around the pool bar. Overall a nice mix. The pool has life jackets for the kids, so my 3 year old was loving floating in the pool all by herself.

One thing I didn't love... the resort was HOT. Now, were in Orlando during record breaking heat in May... but the paths were not shady and walking around the resort in the blistering heat was brutal. My husband did not like the walk to the main building for coffee in the morning, but I guess that is part of the territory with the moderates.

So that is my update. Let me know if you have any questions.
