BRAND NEW CORONADO SPRINGS FAQ THREAD w/ PHOTOS (PART IV)

I would like to make a room request, but am not sure which area to choose. We have never stayed at Coronado Springs before and it seems so large and confusing to decide having never seen it. So, I thought that you experienced CSR visitors could help me. We have 2 children 17 and 9 and would like to be near the Dig Site pool, but not so close that it would be too noisy. Also, the bus stops are not an issue because we will have a car. We don't plan on eating a lot of meals at the resort restaurant, but will be buying mugs and going for refills daily so it would be convenient to be nearby for that. Does anyplace sort of fit ?? Thanks for your help. We can hardly wait to get there.

Cabana 8A would probably be a good choice. It is close to the Dig Site pool and a short walk to the main building. Truthfully, we don't find any of the walking that long, and I do not think it will bother your 17 year old at all. You can also get your mug refilled at Siesta's by the Dig Site pool.

I'm back a question about checking in.....

My kids and I will be arriving before my DH but the reservation is in his name, is it possible for me to check us all in or does my DH have to be present? If they allow me to check in, will they give me his KTTW card or does he have to go back to the front desk upon arrival to get it?

thanks!!

 A Guest Services manager told me that as long as your name is on the reservation, the second adult on the reservation can check-in. We've done this a few times when I traveled with a friend but we arrived on different days - whomever arrived first got their room key etc and when the other arrived stopped by the front desk to "check-in" and pick up their key etc.

So from what we've been told, be sure your name is on the reservation - does not have to be the lead name, but must be on the reservation.

I'm sure JamesLynn will also reply.

Have fun!! :goodvibes

We arrive Monday! :cool1::banana:

When I reserved, I requested connecting rooms in the Cabanas section. We are travelling with the ILs and one of our kids is booked in their room. We've decided to rent an ECV for my FIL whose arthritis has been acting up. Should I fax in and ask for ground floor? Can I do this if I use online check in? I'm a little confused about the benefit of checking in on line if you have a room request.

Also, one of our rooms is on the QSDP and the other isn't because the ILs aren't big eaters. I'm hoping between the PM and the other options at the resort, we'll all find some good things to eat.

Thanks for posting these Buzz!:goodvibes

I have checked in with only part of my party present before however, chances are they will need your DH present if the reservation is in his name. You can call Disney Reservations Center and ask them to switch the "lead" from your DH to you. I've done this before and while they might give you a bit of grief at first they should do it. That way you can check in without your DH :thumbsup2

Does anyone know what size the coffeemakers in the room are? I plan on bringing coffee and filters from home, and need to know what size filters I should bring.

Thank you!

They make the standard four cups of coffee.

Okay....silly question.... I am a little sad CSR does not have the themed refillable mugs (year of a million dreams, what will you celebrate)and that they have there own mug which has been the same for several years from the sounds of it. I also understand that they are the wide bottomed ones that do not fit in your cars coffee mug holders!!!
Our GG is on the DxDDP and I really want the "what will you celebrate" refillable mugs.
Is it possible to get the mugs at another resort and then use them at CSR or will they not let us fill them up.

Sorry, but they will not let you fill them up at the CSR. This is because the restaurants at the CSR are NOT owned by Disney and that is why they have their own mugs.

We're heading to CSR the last week of Sept. I was planning to request Casitas to be closer to the food court but if Casitas hasn't been remodeled by then I need to make another selection. Any suggestions? PLEASE. TIA

Bummer....I hate the wide bottomed mugs!!! I have a whole whack of Blizzard Beach ones from a couple of years ago. They are useless once you return home.
Maybe I will just use my mug credit at another resort and just bring it home as a souvenir!!!

The 3rd floor of Casitas 1, 2 and 3 are done. They started work on Casitas 4 over a week ago. I am told it takes about a month or so for each building. As the rehab is scheduled to be completed by October 09, most of the buildings should be close to completion. I would keep checking here to find updates on what buildings have been completed.

WOW...I just wanted to say a big thank you to you guys for sharing your WEALTH of knowledge on this resort!! All the info is SO incredibly helpful!!!

Thanks a bunch!!!

:thumbsup2

Thanks for the reply to my question about the alligators! I've stayed at WDW resorts over the last 5 years, but never at CSR. I know that there is no swimming in any of the lakes and waterways, but didn't know that any of the resorts had gators in the water! The hammocks looked close to the water, so I worried a bit about running into one, especially with my young daughter. Also feel a bit strange about the idea of being in a boat in the water with them! Guess we'll definitely keep our hands int he boat! :scared1:

I guess I'm still surprised that Disney doesn't remove them, no matter what the size. I've seen various news stories out of FL about gators wandering around neighborhoods, including the most recent one found at the car
dealership. Wondered if the gators at CSR might do the same.

I'm looking forward to staying at CSR for the 1st time in the near future (I hope), but if I run into a gator on the grounds, I just hope it's wearing mouse ears, eating a Mickey bar, and humming "It's a Small World"... :earboy2:

Okay, I have spent most of the days looking at all of the beautiful photos of CSR on the photo threads. What I need is for someone to show me a picture of a casita, a picture of a cabana, and a picture of the ranchos. I think I know what the Casitas look like and the Ranchos, but I didn't see any pictures of the Cabanas from the outside. Can anyone help?

Also, we are on DDP. How do we know what we can get at Pepper Market? I'm not sure how it works with side dishes, etc. Thanks!
