Brain Injury

Thank you all for your kind words and support, I knew I could count on my Dis family for help and support. I will do as you suggested. Thanks again:love:

I'm not familiar with the conditions and I'm afraid I cannot offer any advice, just wanted to add some good thoughts.

You will qualify for unemployment if your work does not offer any sort of paid leave (short term disability/ paid FMLA etc).

Good luck for a speedy recovery!

My husband is in remission from cancer and had some expensive treatment. We thought for sure it would bankrupt us. We were wrong and it was the hospital who helped us the most. Your hospital social worker will help you fill out financial aid paperwork and even apply for social security disability. They cannot refuse to treat you based on inability to pay. Keep whatever money you have left for living expenses and let the hospital/medical bills rack up.
Until money is coming in again, I'd consider food stamps, food banks, heating grants and maybe emergency help with rent from social services.
Remember, this is only temporary and the help should be there.
If your doctor took you out of work six weeks ago, you could have applied for some sort of disability or unemployment six weeks ago. When you fill out the paperwork now, make sure to back date it to your first day out.

I'm sorry you're going through this-it's tough I know. But hang in there and know people are praying for you and your family.

I am so sorry to hear that this is happening to you.

I was thinking about you today! I hope all goes well with your surgery and you heal quickly!

Will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

Pls update us. Stay strong, God Bless you and your family. :flower3:
