Its in the plans for DH to drive DS & myself to/from Bradley airport. We fly at 7am Aug 13 and return at 210pm Aug 27th.
DH may need surgery (restructuring of colon) while we're away. He talks to doc tomorrow. He said he'll be ok and for us to go on w/our vacation.
What airport hotels are recommended for stay, park n fly? Do any keep cars for more than 14days? Many include up to 2wks. Whats the extra charge for 1 more day?
Im thinking I should reserve someplace as a backup in case DH is unavailable.

There is the Sheraton which is connected to Bradley & then there are a few from the Hilton Chain that do that. I want to say it is a Double Tree(which is on the road that McDonalds is on).

I did call them a few months ago to check up on that info but I decided no to do it since our flight is at 9 & we are 40-50 min south of the airport (southern CT coast line) & it was much more then paying to park at one of the various lots, but then I am only going for 8 days.

I do think it was around $150 or so for the time that I was there.

I know some lots charge between $50-$60 for one week & some have AAA or web coupon discounts.

So I would call on those two hotels & check what they require. Oh I was going to use my sisters Hilton points to stay at the Doubletree (or whatever Hilton chain it was) but with the points, I couldn't park for free.

Good luck to your husband.

The sheraton at the airport is a very nice hotel. There are ALOT of other hotels in that area, 3 minutes from the hotel, from not very expensive to moderate, so really check around. I'm originally from that area so know it well. There are also a couple hotels in East Windsor, 10 minutes, to a marriott in Windsor, 10 minutes away, all that probably provide shuttles.

The Bradley International Inn has the long term parking you are looking for included with the price of the room.

I haven't stayed here yet but I always keep it as a stand by for when I travel in the winter and take early flights out. A friend stayed there for the extra long parking time and said the room was just fine and the staff was very nice.

Hi We have stayed at the Bradely Inn many of times, we will be staying their on July 23 the night before we leave from Bradely, for our trip to the Beach Club Villas. The Inn is nothing special but we have always had good service, clean rooms, and the shuttle has always been their for us.We like it their, because we can leave our car up to 2 weeks.I think we are paying $94
for the night on a Saturday. It also saves us an extra hour of sleep the next morning.

thanks again - I did check the website. It says free parking (with 1 nights stay) for up to 21days so for $94 I should be ok
I may book this regardless of when DHs surgery is scheduled as it will make things easier.

We have stayed at the Sheraton attached to Bradley several times. Although the rates are higher than many of the surrounding hotels, the bell hop will bring your luggage from your room right to your airline's check in, which is a great option. The only drawback for us was that at the time we stayed there (its been a few years), they only allowed you to park in their garage for a certain # of days. We were going to be gone for 11 days, and that was too many for them to accomodate us. This may have changed, though.

Hi Barb :) We usually do the Doubletree's Park and Fly rate. PM me for any info-have stayed there lots of times :)

We stayed at Bradley International Inn and won't be doing so again. 2 Years ago, I found it to be dirty and badly in need of refurbishing..............maybe it's been improved since then.

The shuttle service only ran at scheduled times, not continuously. We had to sign up for the shuttle and could not get the one we wanted - already full. Kind of a problem for an early morning flight. Something to think about if you plan to check in at night.

We have stayed at the Sheraton and like it. We have only stayed there when taking a very early flight, though, and didn't do the park & ride.
