I heard that if you go to guest services & have your child measured, they will give them a bracelet & won't have to be measured the rest of the time at WDW. My son is just a little over 40", so this may save us a lot of hassle. Anyone know if this is true?

I do not think this is accurate information. On some rides the kids are measured at the beginning of the line AND before they got on the ride. And, in my experience, they are very strict.

I know when we went on the KRR with DS he was measured there- passed by just a wee bit, they then gave him a bracelet for that ride only. Then after we rode there was practically no line so we decided to go again- even though the same people were there and they had just given him his bracelet- they still remeasured him just to make sure:confused3 but since different rides have different requirements- it's up to the individual ride. HTH!!

We've been given a bracelet at Disney Quest before but not at the parks

No, I have not heard that.

I've never heard this. The only time where my son was given a height bracelet was at Kali River Rapids and that is so the CM's can identify him and place him in the special seat with the lap bar...:confused3

I have heard about other theme parks doing this but I don't think that WDW does it.

On KRR (Kali River Rapids in Animal Kingdom) they do this at the initial entry to the ride, that is because if the child is over 40 inches but under 42(not sure of this one, but I think this is it) - they have to ride in a 'special' seat that has a support in front of them. It is not a bracelet for the whole park only to indicate to the CM's loading people on this ride that this child needs one of the 'special' seats as they are limited.

I think Kali's requirement is only 38".

Anyway, I completely agree with everything posted. Kali is the only one that gives out wrist bands and it is for the reasons quoted here and mentioned by others. At all other rides kids will likely be measured at least once, maybe twice and no wrist band is given.

Definitely prepare your child that he may not "pass" and that even if he passes at the beginning of the line, he may not "pass" at the end or may not pass the next time you get in line! DS is 42" so he was measured several times this trip and there were a lot of complaining parents and crying children at the measuring sticks!
