I made the ADR before really thinking about it, I guess. My son is 5, do you think he'd enjoy a princess breakfast? I know I will, as I grew up on Disney and have never been to WDW, but I hate to make him do it if he's going to be the only boy there, sort of thing. Any advice?

Also, do any of you know which characters are typically there? The Disney site just says "Includes Characters". :confused3

It's all princesses, no other characters. Belle does the greeting, and when we went, the other princesses were Snow White, Cinderella, Aurora, & Ariel. They come out in just this steady flow of princesses over the course of the meal, and when they're all out, they do a little parade with the princesses and the little girls. I did not see any boys that weren't there with their sisters.

My daughter was agog, but only you know if your son would enjoy that or not. Food is actually pretty good, for what it's worth, but the whole experience is very princess-centric.

We went to cinderella's royal table when my son was 5. I also had a daughter that was 3. She loved it, he liked it. He had fun, him and my husband joked around with our waiter (male) and even got their picture with him. I think it helps too that my son is a bit of a flirt (he's always telling random teenage girls he likes their hair, lol) and its still cool to see people from the movies. Also, my son and daughter would play pretend and she would be a princess and he would be "prince charm". I think at that age most will enjoy it, just differently than the girls do!

My 3 boys (no girls) were ages 2, 6 and 7 last yr when we went. The food was great (dinner), the pic with Belle was our best family pic (DS3 is scared to death of any of the characters with masks on, so in every pic with a masked character, he is crying, this is the only one where he's not crying), and snow white was really the only princess that gushed over my boys. They stick the boy families in a corner out of the way, which was ok for me (quiet and out of the hustle and bustle when they did the parade), since DS3 was getting crabby, since it was late in the day. The other family stuck in the back corner was another family with two teen boys (mom was the only girl).

i doubt that they stick tables with boys in a corner, probably a coincidence you and the other couple had mostly boys. when we were seated (with a 5yo girl and 2year old boy) we were in a corner and it was the only table that looked open as we walked through the restaurant. It just happened to also be the first table the princesses visisted as they came from the back. so we were in a quiet spot, first to see them and they made my daughter leader of the parade they do through the restaurant. also, my little boy loves the princesses at his age.

well when this topic cae up in the past my 8 yr old son said, "Its a place where pretty girls get all dressed up and hug you and ask you to be thier prince. How is that NOT for boys!" LOL so i guess it depends on the kid hahah

:rotfl: I like this one. We too took our boys to Cinderella's Castle for breakfast when they were 8, 8, & 7. They were ok with taking pics w/ the princesses, but what they really enjoyed was the food!

My son loved having his picture taken with each of the princesses at Akershus. Of course, he was 20 at the time! :thumbsup2

My 7-year-old boy knows he's going to have to tolerate it for his sister's sake!

Thankfully my son is still at the age where girls are gross, but he did tell me he has a girlfriend the other day, AND she made him kiss her on the cheek.:rotfl:

Thank you everyone, for your input.:goodvibes It definitely helps! I decided to keep the reservation and think on it a little longer. I know it would be easier to just ask him, but he doesn't know we're going and it's a surprise. My biggest concern is him feeling awkward, but he might be so caught up in the atmosphere that he wouldn't notice if there were only a few boys. Or who knows, he might surprise me and have eyes for one of the princesses, .

We took our boys to CRT when they were 7 and 4 and it turned out to be the best character interaction of the trip! I wanted the experience of eating in the castle, but it was great! In fact - they were covered in lipstick and glitter when they left after all the princesses got a hold of them :). Ariel even came back after she made her rounds to spend some more time with her "little princes."

It was such a hit, we're going to try Akershus this time (even though they will be 9 and 6), but I have to admit - the primary reason is because I really want to try the mushroom ravioli!
