We got a new heat pump installed 5 years ago... the warranty expired at the end of Febuary.. they offered me a service plan for $349.95 to extend the warranty for a year... I hemmed & hawed about paying the $ but ended up sending a check & the signed contract off 10 days ago...
I realized some time last night that my outside unit wasn't kicking on & that I was running on auxilary heat... I called them today, they were out within an hour & were here for 3 hours fixing it... A high voltage wire had blown & burned a hole in the freon(sp?) hose...
On the way out the door the Tech handed me a Receipt for services that WOULD have cost us $1190.00!!!!
I rarely have good luck & have had a really bad couple of weeks with my Mom so this was a HUGE relief... We probably would have had to cancel our Disney trip in June if we had to foot that bill!!! Not to mention the relief that the high voltage wire didn't burn my house down!!!!
