sdlong329 Thanks that's the way I thought it was going to happen and the way I was told by DCL sea and air division. I guess I'll just go with that since that's what I want to hear. I am on the list for transportation even if I don't have anything to show for it. I was glad to hear that check-in was at the airport for the cruise. Karen

...He is not totally thrilled but I told him he could wear it or not come on the cruise! ...

That really tells me how he is doing - otherwise, you wouldn't be threatening him! :goodvibes

Lynne,
Do you need to print a copy of your Cruise Contract and bring it to the terminal? I don't ever remember doing that-- we just fill out everything in our "hard" documents (and online) and the CM at the terminal just rips out what she needs... Has something changed?

My 3 check-ins were very similar as far as paperwork and got streamlined as I went from Newbie to Novice. I think they must have dropped the Bahamas Immigration form. Of course, the first time I had a copy of everything ready.

But I've learned that I'll be handing them the following (and I use the online print-out because it includes both my niece and me):

Passports for everyone
Credit card for room charges (for validation)
Cruise contract (Online Check-in form) - printed front side only

If filled out online, the Embark-Departure Form and Payment Authorization Form don't need to be brought with you.

Now, if anyone has cruised recently and found out otherwise, let me know!

I like having a CM going through the queue and checking to see that you've got everything you need - so much better than waiting until you get to the counter. ::MickeyMo

We each have our own idiosyncrasies; being able to hand over the exact right items for check-in is one of mine - I like to have my ID ready when I'm checking in luggage and I am prepared to pay at the grocery/department stores before they tell me my total, not reaching for my wallet like it's a big surprise after they finish scanning all the items. :rotfl:

So AuntLynne, if I'm only showing a little bit of leg (2 - 6 inches), then can I get away with not wearing hose? :goodvibes

I also like having everything ready when I check in. Heck, I already have my camera out of its bag, my toiletries out and my shoes off by the time I get to the airport scanner. After all this time, I don't get why people wait until they are ready to send their stuff into the scanner to realize - "oh, I have to ......" and hold up the line. I know it's different with families though as they have themselves and the kids to deal with.

Kristi

I still find myself forgetting to pull the 1 quart bag out of my luggage even though it is ready for them and at the top of the bag. Usually it just goes through, surprisingly.

My understanding is that showing 2-6 inches of leg is appropriate for a 3-4 day sailing ... 6-12 inches of leg is appropriate for a 7 day cruise ... while 18" is appropriate for a TransAtlantic or Panama Canal cruise!

I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT IS SUGGESTED FOR AN AROUND THE WORLD CRUISE!
:scared1:

Good morning everyone...this is our first post on the TA page. I just joined the forum the other day and posted a couple of times on the med cruise. I have two cabins for this cruise; my dw and I in one and our Preacher and his wife in the other.

:welcome:

Oh, you mean it was Donna!?!

Woody

:rotfl2: Leave it to Steve to find someome else to blame ! LOL

Welcome Jsassy!

Lynne what is the embark debark form you have mentioned? ...didnt see that online (I think)

Does anyone else NOT have their cruise docs? I feel like the last one ( or am I just impatient :))

I didn't know if it had been poster here already or not, but I wanted to let y'all know that I was at Target yesterday and in the travel/trial size products section, there were individual pouches of liquid Tide (1 load each) and little bottles of concentrated All detergent (each bottle does 2 loads). Each was about $1!

You'll never see me showing that much leg unless I'm in a bathing suit. ;)

I bought some of the tide pouches, but it didn't mention that it was for HE machines. Aren't the machines on the Magic HE? If so, do I put in half the pouch? I'd hate to flood the laundry room with soap bubbles.

Poor Aaron - first a bug bite now Mom is choosing what he will be wearing on Pirate night. :goodvibes

He does know that he won't be out of place wearing it doesn't he? And he doesn't have to wear it to school at all - right?

Kristi

I may make it his uniform everyday for school :) Just kidding - we homeschool so I have uniform authority too :)

If you know you paid for it - it will be ok - my last cruise was booked the Tuesday before and I got NOTHING - it made me real nervous to fly to orlando with no confirmation of ANYTHING - cruise, transfers, cruise docs (well I did do those online), but it really made me nervous but it was all good.

How could I make a Minnie and Mickey on an anchor like Annette and Brack's but saying "JAN & TOM" for a door magnet? :confused3:

I vaguely remember reading somewhere that the Back Street Boys were going to be entertaining us on the cruise, joining up with the ship in Europe somewhere. Does anyone else remember reading this, and is this true? Also, does anyone know which movies are playing on the Magic?

Joius, we don't have our docs either, so I am having serious document-envy. But I have started the (long) packing process and my FE gifts are done and packed. They take up half of a suitcase, but I figure that gives me room for stuff to come home. <g>

-- Adrienne : )

I was at target last night and they had in the boys department polo's with anchors and pirate skull bones thingy - the shirt is white - so guess what Aaron is wearing for priate night! He is not totally thrilled but I told him he could wear it or not come on the cruise! I thought it was that cool :)

Krisann

That sounds adorable!

I got one of Sal's formal outfits at Target in the baby Dept. It has a green polo, a navy sweater with a whale on it and khaki pants with little sailboats/anchors/whales on them. I couldn't resist it for the cruise!

I did online check in but I didn't print out the cruise contracts, because I figured that it was the same contract in the back of our cruise document book. Our passports are already set aside and ready to go.

I don't suppose anyone has helpful information about taxi services in London??

I can't find a minibus large enough to accommodate our family of ten plus all of our luggage to get from Heathrow to our house rental in the Kings Cross area :(

Mine was made for me right after I signed up on the DISBoard about 8 years ago by someone on the board. Unfortunately I have no idea who it was :sad2: or how they did it. :guilty: It has been in my signature all this time.

I think I read that on our cruise website (one of the members set up for us).

We used the bus and train system with our luggage but if you have a lot of luggage that can be difficult. The taxis service will be expensive for a family of 10 though. Good luck!

I don't think I could pull off public transportation between the load of luggage and the number of small children we're traveling with :(
