I just wanted to introuce myself. My name is Natalie. I am 26 years old, single, and a native New Yorker. I am a teacher who has a Masters degree and I am looking for people to hang out with. My main interests are theater, writing, reading, and teaching. I would love to find someone to go to the shows with, walk a mile around the ship, take aerobics class, and lay out by the pool. I look forward to meeting everyone!! Thanks!

Natalie:goodvibes

Welcome :cheer2: We look forward to getting to know you.

Oh my, Lynne:

I think there was a misunderstanding!! I just wanted to know if I could use them - cut and paste and change the names myself. I did not expect you to do this for me. Thanks so much for this, but sorry I made it seem like I wanted you to do it! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!

Now, I see others want you to do it for them, too! Oh my, I am so sorry about this. I really just wanted to know if I could copy them. There will be a little surprise for you on the cruise for this!!

Maria

It is easier to keep up with this thread when I check on it 3 or 4 times a day :surfweb: but then I have to not work much. :confused3

Lauren...Your grandmother and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. Hospice care and a loving family will help you through this time. And the support of your friends will be with you.

Lauren,

Our prayers are with your Grandmom and family as well. This thread moves so quickly I've stopped trying to find the original post and am just attaching to this one. Our last 6 months have been filled with many of these same life events. the cruise will be a very nice time of rest for all of us I think!

All this talk of games and cards....I ended up doing some game shopping last night and bought some more games that I could potentially pack.

Lauren, thoughts and prayers for your family.

Welcome Natalie!

Is anyone on this cruise booking or sailing on the Vancouver - Los Angeles date in Sept 2011? I have a bunch of friends that want me to book onboard for them and I can only book 5. If my mom and her friend are linked with us, do you think I can book 7 rooms? TIA

Welcome Natalie:woohoo:
I am a retired school librarian with 28 years in education but a bit older than 28. If you can't find anyone younger to hang out with we might have something in common. I am traveling with a friend who is also a librarian but in higher ed.

:rotfl: I would hope that you were a bit older then 28 if you had 28 years of experience in education. Otherwise you would have started from birth. :rotfl:

Isn't Kristi bound2travel a librarian ? Are we being surrounded by them? (My brother is a librarian in Massachusetts. I just went to WDW with him while he attended a users' group meeting for library software). They had dinner on the Streets of America in Disney's Hollywood Studios. The DJ asked them to shout out where they were from. Silence. I went up to him and suggested he might ask them to whisper where they were from. He had no idea that the audience was librarians and their families.

That is great :lmao::rotfl: Did he do it?

I got another call today from DCL and they upgraded us again! We are now in 7618 for both cruises!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't believe it. It still does not offset the cost but at least DCL is doing something for us.

I changed the room on all the spreadsheets.

Lynne I don't know if you need it, but our room is available for the tour

Odd thing was, he didn't even know who the target audience was. You'd think that would be information needed to prepare for a gig.

After I told him they were librarians, he never used my "great" joke. :goodvibes But he definitely used the word "librarians" for the rest of the night. My name tag said Attendee Guest and he asked where I was from. Alabama. He went to college in Alabama. Yup, the University of. I went to the rival, Auburn. Those are fighting terms, unless you are outside the state, then it's like being ex-pats meeting somewhere in Africa. Southerners and their need to find connections to others.

Librarians are born with a book in their hands. Makes a tough delivery.

I should have been a librarian. I love to read so much. I use to (when I was in high school) be one of the kids that would walk out of the library with 10-15 books at a time and bring them all back before their due date. All read. :upsidedow

Kind of like Ohio State and Michigan...no wait... still fightin' terms no matter what state your in!:rotfl2: Go Buckeyes!!

In both 8th and 9th grades, I was a library aide as one of my classes. Hmmm, shouldn't I have taken a foreign language instead? Often thought about it myself, I love looking up information.

My favorite job was in college; I worked at the Student Union, and we answered calls about all types of stuff - when can I drop my class and get money back or not get an F, how many bricks are there in the main campus building, who's performing in Atlanta this weekend, how do you bake a chicken, what's the number to the ... If I could just find a job like that today; and make the salary of an RN :rolleyes1

Recently, the Today show was showcasing "5 Things You've Never Heard of that Can Change Your Life," phone numbers that can come in handy - first up - there was my old job at Foy Student Union. ...okay, "recently" was actually Nov 2007
