Ann - do I need to bring some DDP or Fresca onboard for you? I will be making a Wal-Mart run Friday night in Port Canaveral (or on the way to PC). I'll be buying whatever liquids and hygiene items I might need for 25 nights of Magic.

When do you get into Orlando?

:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Yeah another Duck fan!

Not alone, DH wanted the duck on the lanyard name tag and then found out it was little and in the corner. I guess he wanted the duck to be the entire size of the name tag!!

I have now booked the B2B, could not resist the pricing, and Disney Air is not going to charge more for changing the date. Going to be in the same room, 7136. It was surprising after checking the availability of similar cabins online the numbers still showing available, since 7136 is HA, and calling that the same cabin was available and they even gave me an extra day hold so air department could verify if there would be an upcharge.

Held from Sat to Mon. Was booked using military rating and it was half of what regular pricing showed. Don't know if could of done the trip with that cabin without them having such good pricing. Either they need to load the ships or just being generous, expect they are loading the ship. This is going to be a long cruise 25 days (the longest other cruise we have taken was a B2B 19 day) in a lesser class.

... Maybe Lynne can copy the info over to her web site. Not sure how hard that is. ...

You cannot imagine how hard that was! I had to click my cursor, slide the page down (it is a long list), copy and then paste on the website. I may have taxed myself with that. :lmao:

I tell you, these Mac computers are for those who want to pretend they are working on a computer but are really just playing.

Don't know why I didn't think to update the FE page on the website, myself. Sometimes I just need a little poke or prod to steer me in the right direction.

I have now booked the B2B...

...and you get to know where you are staying.

...and it is one of those giant cabins with a giant deck. :thumbsup2

You'll be joining brannose, Brooklyn, grlzmom, goofprincess, Happy Goofy, michelle2 (just Michelle), shaylahc1, susanowen27, TheCruisers, Yvet and auntlynne in the B2B bunch.

The Med cruise is not nearly so talkative - we are on Thread #1, page 94 or so. Mainly we are just discussing port excursions right now.

They really don't want you using anything but their 12 (16?) oz paper cups. I think it is a health issue. And no refilling the same cup - use a new one - and cringe at the non-greenness of that (of course, you are sailing on a giant hotel, are we really being green?) Now, you can bring your own cup and use as many of their paper cups as necessary to fill it. They do have Coca-Cola products - someone else will let you know about your specific choices - not finding much online right now.

This may not need to be said, but if you are going to bring your own travel cups (as I am) don't forget to pack dish soap. 2 weeks is a long time to go without a dish washer!

We are all going to be together for a long time and I know I don't want to go home with a cold if I can help it.

My wife is slow getting started talking and needs to be urged along, but when she gets started she loves to chatter. So maybe I can urge her to get on the forum and discuss the many activities that she has seen on the forum and talks about doing.

Lynne would there be anyway you could maybe pick up some Aquafina for me if your doing a Walmart run? No big deal if you can't I was just thinking like a 12 pack or something and didn't want to deal with shipping it. I mostly wanted it for when I'm doing excursions as I'm kinda picky about water and didn't want to buy some on the ship.

I've also debated someone's idea of using a gatorade bottle even though I don't drink itI figured I could buy one and dump it out to use the bottle but after 2 weeks the bottle may be dirty.

Heather: Regular tops or sport tops? 0.5 liter, 1 liter, 1.5 liter?

And when are you getting in?

I better start making that list...

That's the sweetest thing! Thanks, you get full credit for offering. I'm afraid that my diet Dr. Pepper habit is bad enough that I'd better make my own run. That's ok, we'll have a rental car and time. Actually, we rented a CONVERTIBLE! It was hardly any more money. I adore convertibles (and, thanks to Woody's suggestion, we'll ship at least one bag to the ship so that we'll all 3 plus wheelchair fit in the convertible).

Dertoyou (Donald) I hope hope hope you add your room to the stateroom tour; I've eyed those big verandas on the deck plans and would love to see one!

I was thinking I'd bring big paper cups, that way no sanitation issue.

DCL wants everyone to use a new cup each time to help prevent another outbreak of the Norwalk virus. CNN story on Disney Magic.

Apparently the virus can easily spread when someone has a used cup or bottle and touches the dispenser spout with it.

Thanks for helping slow down my heart palpatations....one other question about the soda station. How big are the glasses? I've been wondering if I should bring a package of BIG paper cups since I tend to consume my diet Coke in vast quantities. I don't suppose they stock diet Dr. Pepper or Fresca? Thanks,
Ann

I'll be missing my Diet Dr. Pepper, also. It's the only diet drink that I like. I'll stick to unsweetened tea and water instead. Except, of course, for the occasional glass of wine with dinner.

Ack! Just realized that I haven't booked a shuttle to CI&S on the 9th!

-Thanks for the info on using 2 credit cards for 2 diff people. My mom was asking the other day. Also, if I am going to give her OBC as an early b-day gift, should I wait until she's officially checked in rather than calling it in now and putting the credit on the room?

-Daniel's Taxi in Madeira -- his wife posts on cruise critic and last I read they'll be up and running.

-a friend was asking if the military rate applies only to those on active duty?

Welcome to the newcomers! So jealous of those doing the b2b!!

I don't think I've ever seen Aquafina with a sports top but if they have one with it then sports top please. 1 liter or 1.5 liter whichever comes in a pack as I don't want you to have to deal with 12 individual bottles.

I get in Friday night at 6pm and am staying at MCO. Thank you very much :cloud9:

Random stuff:

Not bringing a carseat, just keeping DD on my lap for the bus ride.

Has anyone shipped a box to the ship before? Does it work well? Is it waiting outside your state room? Last but very important question; can I ship wine? I know I can bring it on board but can I send it ahead?

I just spend 1/2 hour on the phone with DCL telling me I was wrong over and over again. I booked my excursions last Wed and even saw them online over the weekend but this morning they were gone. When I told them they were there before they told me "no they weren't". Funny, I spoke to a supervisor last Wed when I was having trouble but they don't see a record of my call.:headache:

Two days of being snowed in, a tree down, 1/2 the town still with no power, 3 cases of a stomach bug overtaking my house....Please see wine shipping question above!:rotfl2:

I have shipped a box to the ship (really a warehouse that delivers them at the appropriate time.) I was sending down 2 boxes (had 2 cabins) of things for the FE - and that was for a 7-night cruise with only 12 cabins to cover. That's why I can't do the "every cabin" type of FE for a 14-night cruise; I would need 16 boxes to cover it.

I don't think you can ship wine (federal regulations), but I'll check; seems I was trying to find this before.

OK...DH gave in yesterday and started full-fledged, clothes in the suitcase packing....I think he's ready for some sunshine!

Me-- I bought myself a new pair of "cruise shoes" as a birthday present to myself. Now I'm just up to the "little things" like a travel hair dryer, stain stick, etc.

Tomorrow I'm going to the bank to figure out the whole Euro, Gibraltar Pound, Pound Sterling (for our three days in London aftewards) vs. traveler's checks vs. debit card thing.

Arrgghh!

I accidentally deleted some Private Messages (PM) from last week about our friends' 8-year-old son.

If we exchanged messages, please re-send to me by PM my latest response. Thanks.

Woody

So my only warning about traveler's checks in that we had a hard time using them in Italy. We even went to restaurants that had the American Express Traveler's check symbol on the door and couldn't get them to take them!!!

We eventually found an American Express storefront and had them cash them. So annoying. Will never buy Euro Amex traveler's checks again. Of course this was Italy, and it was not the only travel drama we ran into over there (enough that we won't go back unless we are with a packaged tour). We've traveled to lots of other places in Europe and never had any travel drama, so maybe other countries wouldn't even blink at them, but it was such a bad experience we won't buy them again.

I have a lot of travel anxiety, and am worried about not finding an ATM that will take our card, but my hubby says it shouldn't be a problem. Since he's the one that usually handles tipping, etc I guess it's his problem. We have some Euros left over from our last trip, so that will have to do.

We fianlly got our flight info from DCL today and are extremely pleased with what they were able to arrange for us. Were coming home on the 26th to Toronto and we only have one connection in Frankfurt (with only a 1 1/2 stop over). Thank you DCL for taking caring of us travelling with a 2 year old.:cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1:
