Dee can you add another spreadsheet where we can add our celebrations? I would like to bring cards for everyone - great idea - and what a special thing to do on the birthdays/anniversaries on board! I need to get out my stamping supplies and make some cards!!!!

Of course my son turns 13 on the cruise and my hubby turns 39 the day before! Both of which I will be sending birthday baskets from Shirley's for them!

Aren't you glad you found google spreadsheets?

We only booked this cruise 2 weeks ago and there is a TON of helpful information on these boards! The main reason I have been wanting to book this cruise is for all those fabulous seas days!! FINALLY time to enjoy the boat and relax!! This is the perfect trip because I know my 5 yr old Ds will be having the time of his life in the Kids Clubs. He is so excited to go to Mickey's kids club and to celebrate his 6th birthday on board. I'm sure this will be the perfect family trip for all of you!

If you want to mention the date, his name, and your stateroom #, I'd be happy to deliver a card to him, and I expect others would as well.

Welcome!

OK...who has girls in the 7/8/9 year old (grades 1-3) range?

Who has girls in the 4/5 (preschool/K) range?

Anyone interested in doing some supervised e--pals (electronic pen pals) to get our dd's talking ahead of time.

I know there was a "kid's thread" out there a long time ago....but it didn't get much traffic as I recall. It would be fun to have our kid's know some names ahead of time.

We have both a 7 year old and 5 year old girls. We could give the supervised e--pals this a try and see how it goes. Feel free to PM me (I think I can figure out how that works).

I also have a DD who just turned 6 and is Kindergarten. I would love to have her get to know someone else before we sail. Due to the fact that she is 13 years younger than my other DD and 17 years younger than my oldest DS, she is like an only child and doesnt like to leave my side unless she has a friend.

I'm glad to participate. Love spending time at my computer instead of sewing bridesmaid gowns like I should be.....can I get in on the action, too? DS with Down syndrome will have his 20th birthday the day we set sail (April 10th). His name is Tom and we're in 2528. Any cards would be welcome. Thanks!
Ann

Yay! I would be happy to bring a card. I am really glad that so many celebrations will be taking place during this sailing!

So not a happy camper right now and I only have myself to blame (partially at least).

The cabin crew for British Airways has voted to strike but a date has not been set yet. According to British Airways, the ballot was before a judge threw out some of the union's complaints as being unsupported. BA also said that the union has 28 after the ballot to begin the strike and they have to announce the strike at least 7 days before it starts.

I'm suppose to be flying BA to London from Barcelona. As I booked the flight myself (last July), I don't have travel insurance on it. I didn't figure on a strike . Any other flights to London are about double and will take hours more to get there. I can't really even do anything until a strike is or is not announced and if my flight does or does not get cancelled.

BA claims they will try to get some people to work the flights and that some of the cabin crew may choose to work even though there is a strike. ARGH!!!!!

I could kick myself for not getting the travel insurance but at the time there were some medical issues going on (and still going on) that would have prevented me from getting insurance that covered pre-existing conditions. My thought at the time was that if I missed the cruise it would be due to pre-existing (which wouldn't have been covered except for the cruise protion) and that if I made the cruise, then I would be getting to London and wouldnt' need insurance.

I just don't need this worry and stress right now. My email to BA got the "blah blah" standard reply - so no help there. I'll try calling to get more info.

ARGH!!!!! :headache::mad::headache::mad::headache::mad:

Kristi

I am so, so sorry Kristi. Try to keep hope that it will all work out in the end. Wishing you a whole lotta Pixie Dust!

Is it sad that that sounds like a lot of fun to me?? :confused3

Heather if they open up the kids areas to the adults during this trip I will be right there with you. :thumbsup2

If you will be ordering a cougar shirt from cafepress, remember that the sizes run small. At least they seem that way to me. After getting one shirt in my normal size, I was afraid it wouldn't fit anymore after one washing.

Just a thought.

Kristi

There's now a "Celebrations" tab in the spreadsheets. Go ahead, folks. Have at it.

That's so kind of you!!! His name is Patrick-Riley ( he answers to either! ) and he turns 6 on April 24th - we are in stateroom #2648. It will be so nice to finally get to meet all of you!! This cruise is going to be one big celebration!!

I was trying to get more info on the BUNCO to Barcelona which is suppose to be posted on post #23. Can someone please fill me in on it. I went back to the previous thread and still can't find the info. I already missed out on secret mickey, the deadline was yesterday. I'm also a bit confused on the FE exchange. Are we suppose to get 1 gift per cabin to all cabins participating. Or one gift to everyone participating. Or are the participants divided into smaller groups and you give within your group. I just want to make sure before signing up. I'm only taking 2 pieces of checked luggage with me for my family for the entire 2 weeks. I need to know how much extra stuff I'm bringing and lugging back home. Thanks in advance.

I would love to send him a card too.

You would be signing up for the second group as the deadline for the first group was Feb 1st. The first group is HUGE :scared1: but the second will be much smaller. You can give one gift per cabin or per person. It is really up to you. :goodvibes If you get to much good stuff you can always get rid of your clothes, that would save space! :lmao:

I also forgot, on the celebration page could you please let us know if it is adult or child that is having the birthday? Some cards will be more appropriate for the adults and some for the kids. :thumbsup2

Also if your child has a name that could be a boy or a girl could you let us know? I have a niece Alex who always get called a boy. At eight that is huge! I don't know if anyone will have boy and girl cards but I usually do.

TIA

Well change in plans . . .

MIL is not coming - maybe next cruise

Hi Emma'smom - so glad you posted. I was thinking the same thing! My daughter is 8 (3rd grade) - and I would love for her to get to know some of the other girls her age before the trip. Would be more than happy to do supervised e-pal. Maybe we can have a meet & greet the first day on board. If you want, send me a PM and we can coordinate.

CRAP! Now where is my DH supposed to sleep???

I personally have dibs on the enclosed portion of the Deck 4 / FWD portion of the running/walking trail ... you know ... the portion that is enclosed from weather. It can be a tad noisy, so I am bringing ear plugs. I plan to "appropriate" one of the teak deck chairs with blue cushions from deck 4 as well. For protection at night, I will also appropriate one of the shuffleboard "pusher things," in case I am attacked by a cougar at night. :rotfl2:
