Wow... You really got zonked with the storm didn't you?

I actually like a nice snow storm... (about a foot...once in a while) but that's an awful lot to have shovel and I know you were worried about the chickens and rabbits...

I think that compromising by keeping a Dis day and missing one school day is the best compromise... maybe the school schedule will stay so that Victoria doesn't even miss anytime ...(& you know she will have an awesome time ...

(The whole going back to school in August thing... I don't totally get... It feels like it's still summer... I haven't had to deal with that with either kid luckily...)

Just try to remember that the planning is (supposed to be) half the fun...

Tuesday was my 180 mark and it was time to make my ADR’s. Now, I tried and tried to do it on the website with no luck. I’m really not liking that new website much. Really I’m not. I waited until I got to work to call, as I knew I’d be on hold for quite some time. Of course I did not expect it to be 55 MINUTES before I heard a friendly voice on the other end. Good news is that I got everything I wanted within ½ hour of my requested time. Here’s what it looks like:

Erin, I haven’t checked, but do any of our days line up now?

Overall, I am pretty pleased at the ressies. My only concern is the Chef Mickey’s one. Our flight leaves MCO at 12:15pm so I believe Magical Express will want to pick us up at 9:15am. I just don’t know if we can be back to POR in time. I wonder if you can make other arrangements with them to pick up one hour later. I’ll have to check into that.

I’ve also booked our return flights back. I am using our SW points and the return flights were within our point range so I booked them. It’s an early flight than what we’ve been taking lately and Peter is very happy about that. We’ll be back in Maine by 5:25pm and home by 7pm, so that will be good for everyone. Victoria won’t be too tired to go to school the next day. Here’s our flights:

I’m glad there’s not a huge layover between arriving in Baltimore and taking off for Portland. Yeah Southwest!! Thank you for flying out of Portland now! I have to wait until there’s a good sale for flights down. Tickets are running about $220 one way per person right now and I just think that’s a bit much. Lord knows I am not very good about waiting, but I’ll have to. Besides, the tax refunds aren’t in yet (they are due to be received on Feb 25th) so I couldn’t buy tickets now if I wanted to. While I’m typing this I’m on hold with Disney so that I can shorten our trip by one day. Yuck. What’s up with these on hold times anyways?? It’s been 16 minutes and 22 seconds so far. I know, it’s not as bad as the other day yet, but geez! At least they are playing Beauty & the Beast music currently. I called on the work phone thinking it wouldn’t be that long…..yeah, I might have to suck it up and call from my cell phone. I don’t want to get in trouble by making a long distance call that lasts an hour!! Oh it only took 19 minutes for someone to answer. Good I’m all set now and it dropped the price down $221.04. I’ll have to update my budget.

We celebrated Victoria’s 15TH birthday on Monday. 15. OMG!! Peter had to work, but Victoria, her friend Kali and I headed to the Maine Mall in Portland. You might as well just call me a freaking teenager when I’m with them. I’m just as silly as ever! I gave her $50 for her birthday as she didn’t want a cake or presents or a party. Whaaaaa! No Brave party for us, I mean her, darn it! So she had about $110 to spend with the other money she got for her birthday. They had a blast! I did, too! That evening, when Peter got home from work, we all went to Texas Roadhouse where Victoria had to ride the saddle!! Yeeehaw!!! What a great day!

So, it was Kid’s Night at Texas Roadhouse and the girls just had to make the macaroni crafts!!!

I must show you all my bouquet of chocolate from my hubby for Valentine’s Day. If you can’t tell, it is purple and yellow with a Belle cutout. He actually had it made for me. He had one made for Victoria, too. He’s such a good man! It’s at work now where I can really enjoy it all day long!

We brought my Mom to the airport on Saturday so that she can spend the next month with her friend Monique in Florida. Good for Mom. She deserves a break with all the stress that’s been around here lately. Although I must say I’m really seeing a difference now in Victoria. Of course it’s school vacation week, so the trigger isn’t there, but her overall attitude is so much better. I really think 20mg of Prozac is the correct dosage. She’s taking the liquid version now (she hates to swallow pills!). I’ll know more next week when she’s back to school. But, she’s redone her room and gave away a lot of her stuffed animals and elementary level books. I’ve very proud of her. She’s doing well right now. I know there will still be bad days, but I’m pleased. Her counselor called and wants to meet with us tomorrow. I will have to call her back to set up a time.

Isn’t this a pretty sight??? It’s dark as it was 5am!! Mom’s flight was at 6am. As it was, the flight was delayed an hour as they had to de-ice the plane. Yeah, this is why I don’t like flying this time of year ---- you never know if you are going to get out! The next time we see it, we will be heading to PlayList Live!

Yep, my mini weekend in Orlando is in 29days!! OMG!! 29 days until I feel that warm Florida sun on my face! 29 more days until DTD!! 29 more days until Rainforest Café! 29 more days until Wishes from the Poly beach! 29 more days until the Water Parade from the Poly Beach!! So, can anyone guess how many days I have left?? HAHA!

I also wanted to show you guys the old, dead tree that came down during the last blizzard…..it was HUGE!!

I would go earlier than your ADR and see if you can get in and I would also have money for a cab and take a cab back to POFQ! For some reason, pictures aren't showing up on my phone tonight and I'm too lazy to go get my laptop so I can't comment on the rest of your post until later. But you have some great ADRs Yes, we have two of the same days! The kids and I will be in HS the evening of Saturday the 24th. We'll be in EP on Monday the 26th I was planning on doing 50s Prime Time on Saturday, but I though about switching that to dinner at Sci-fi... our would that be too stalker-ish? It would be cool to have a DISmeet while we wait for or tables! Assuming I can get an ADR for the same time frame. Anyway, I'll look at your pics tomorrow and comment more then. Yeah, I'm not really going to fret too much about Magical Express. Like you said, I'm just going to catch the next one. I'm sure there will be another one prior to my flight home, right? Yeah, Victoria did have fun on her birthday! My big 15 year old. OMG!! OUr mounds of snow are slowly melting. Fortunately Wednesday's storm turned out to be a bust and we got about 3 -4 inches of slush rather than 12 inches of snow. I'll take that anytime. Now that it's March 1st, any snow that does come will melt within a few days as the temps hover around freezing nowadays. Oh, we can still get a whopping storm in April, but it's not usual.

You know everyone says that about Peter and Victoria. They were at the dentist together this past Wednesday and the office lady kept saying that over and over. I think it's awesome. At least I don't think of her father when I look at her as she doesn't resemble him at all!

Would you believe my weekend is just 3 weeks away?? Wow. It doesn't seem possible. I'm working on a little drawstring backpack for Victoria to take with her. She so does not like purses, so I'm hoping she'll like this. I want her to have someting to keep her camera, phone and money in. I've already ironed on the Playlist Live logo and so far, so good. I'll take a pic when I'm done. I'm so excited for our first day there. That's Mama's day and DTD day and Poly day!!! I may just have to take a loop around the monorail! You know, just for fun! Oh, and I think it would be quite an injustice if I didn't stop at all the monorail resorts, go to the gift shops and do a little pin trading. I mean, it would just be wrong NOT to do that, right??? Yep, that's a must!

I'm going to start using FLICKR for my photos so let's see if I can do it correctly. 167 more days until our August vacation....ah.....I cannot wait! I can't believe there's 18 more days until our Playlist weekend. I made Victoria and Kali both a drawstring backpack and it looks like this:



I'm pretty pleased how this once came out. I have to go pick up more rope for Victoria's. I'll probably do that today. This one is after 3 tries. I tried with different material that just wasn't working. I was using a canvas type material and now I just went with plain ole cotton. Perfect! Victoria even likes it. Speaking of Miss Victoria, we all went clothes shopping yesterday for Playlist. OMG! Our trip to Kohl's frustrated the living heck out of me. She wanted to shop in the BOY'S SECTION. Nope! Not gonna happen! But she went over with Peter and found a plaid button-down shirt. The only way I was letting her get it was if she wore a lace cami underneath. There. Good compromise! She did pick out another really nice shirt. Her tastes are soooo different than mine, but hey, if she's interested in how she looks now, I'm letting her go for it. We then went to Lane Bryant and that was a pleasant shopping experience. She immediately found 2 (girlie) shirts that I loved and she loved. Mission accomplished! We now have enough outfits for Playlist. She does have to try on her swimsuits to make sure those fit. There may be another shopping trip in my future. Shucks!

I went ahead an purchased the Photopass Plus this past weekend. I did get it for the $149 preorder price. I'm contemplating doing a share but I'm not sure. What if I do it wrong, but really, what is there to do wrong. I would only be doing the Photopass share and I'm keeping the Plus part for myself. Having it connected to the Magic Band concerns me. I don't think I would have it linked and I believe I will have the choice. What do you guys think? I've been in 2 shares but have never ran one. I'd love your opinions!

Hmmmm, I'm unsure. I think you should wait a bit and see what happens with the magicbands. I was thinking that shares were a thing of the past b/c if they make you attach it to the bands, there will be no way to share. How about Erin? You guys could actually even share the plus card b/c you will be meeting up? At least paying half the cost would be worth it and if it ends up that you can't share, then at least you and Erin know each other and will be prepared for that??

I just did a share for my trip with Savannah and paid less than 20$ and got so many great shots! If I cannot do a share in the future, I'll just shell out the money for photopass b/c it's totally worth it!

Hey there fellow Mainer! I'm from "way down south" in York County. Cornish...almost at the NH border just west of Sebago Lake. I'm glad to see someone still uses PWM...we have to drive to MHT because I like nonstop and since they took all the PWM-MCO nonstops away, just go to MHT. But I am an hour closer than you, only takes us 2 hours to get there. Better than driving into BOS. Maybe someday they will bring nonstop back to PWM. I can't believe they did all that work to the terminal and parking and then got rid of hundreds of flights.

Looks like we will be overlapping in August. I am going the 17th - 24th. We are also staying at POR (preferred requesting building 14). Maybe we will be neighbors

So sorry that Victoria has had such a hard start at life....she seems like such a wonderful girl. I hope things turn around soon for you guys.

I enjoyed reading about your NYC trip...not so much the hotel, but I'm glad your mom had a good time. Wow, you were brave doing NYC on black Friday! I thought Portland was bad

I hear you about the whole school issue. We start the Wednesday before Labor Day...that's why I am going a tad earlier. My little guy is only in K this year, so I'm sure he wouldn't miss much next year. But I just worry about him missing out on that initial bonding with new friends the first couple days. Victoria is old enough hat she has a great friend base already, so that's not very important to her, but for a 6 year old it is. I hope they don't move our start date up any more....I wish it was still after Labor Day. Just let summer be over before putting them back in school! And we don't get out until the 24th of June (as of now...who knows how many more snow days we will get). They hardly have 2 months now

Anyway...looking forward to hearing about your mini trip coming up here n just 14 days! Yay! You must be so excited!

Hi All!!! It’s a grey day here, but it's a relatively warm 45 degrees out. We had lots of rain last night and it has melted quite a bit of our snow. Yay!!! It’s been a very long winter with most of our storms coming in late winter during the weekends. Not my idea of a nice way to wrap it up at all, but what are you going to do, right? On a positive note, in Orlando it’s 72 degrees and sunny. I’m hoping it warms up a bit for next week so we really can enjoy the pool. That’s ok, Peter and I will enjoy our alone time and even the hot tub. Yeah, baby! I cannot wait!! We fly out on Friday the 22nd! I can’t believe it’s so close now! Victoria tried on her swimsuits and great thing is --- I don’t have to buy her a new one! Yeah! Would you believe I haven’t even started packing yet? Oh, the toiletries are ALWAYS packed, but my clothes aren’t. I have decided on what I am wearing to fly down, though --- My friend Laurie gave me a new shirt which is really pretty and I’ll be wearing jeans to go with it and sneakers, of course. Our flight leaves from Portland at 6am and we’ll be arriving in Orlando at 10:10am. Unfortunately no Magical Express for us….. so I’ll have to find Mears and get a ride to the hotel from them. Yuck! But I’ll be in Orlando, where there’s no snow and it will be warmer than Maine!! I figure we should be at the hotel by noon. I think we’ll get settled and either hang by the pool or head directly to DOWNTOWN DISNEY!!! We have ressies at Rainforest Café for 5pm and we’ll be taking a taxi there. There is free transportation to DTD from our hotel but only at 6:45pm. Apparently people don’t shop or eat during the day…. I just think taking a taxi will be worth it. After dinner we will shop for a little bit and then take Disney bus transportation to the Poly. We will be on the beach for the Electric Water Parade and then Wishes!! MMMmmmmm! HOME! I’ll be bringing my fold up tripod so I can get some nice pics. This will be the first time I ever see the water parade. I cannot wait! Afterwards we’ll go back to DTD and grab a taxi from there. DTD is the closest Disney point to our hotel, so the cheapest cab fare. Gotta save money somewhere. We’ll probably be pretty tired after a day of travelling and the excitement of being there. Hey, what do I care ---- I get to sleep in the next day while the girls go to the convention for the day!

In other news I found an AWESOME deal on one way flights from Orlando to Portland on the 28th of August --- $130 per person!!! I haven't found anything better and I'm pretty confident there won't be any fare better. The trouble is now, we have 2 ressies for the return flight --- one for Southwest and one for Delta! The $130 per person is from Delta. Southwest had the same flight for $171. Even with the baggage fee Delta charges, we are better off with them. Now, I will have to change the SW ressie to the flight down. Problem with that is that we don't have enough points yet to be able to book it. August 28th apparently is a much cheaper day to fly (Wednesday) than the 18th (Sunday). I'm hoping that by the end of April I will be able to change the flights to the 18th. The total points it will take is 35,820. We currently have 30,493, so basically 2 more credit card cycles as we usually get about 2,000 points per month. We also made a purchase through their partner site Best Buy which should earn 500 points and I went through Turbo Tax to earn an additional 1,000 points. I just wish I could do it now and be done with it all, but alas.....patience is a virtue, right?

More news.....Victoria's body had its very own menstral cycle this month!! This is HUGE NEWS for someone with PCOS!!! Now the doctor said that this may be a fluke thing and may not happen again, but it's a good thing. I'm excited! Finally, good news for a change!! Unfortunately, she's been sick with the ickiness and fever since Sunday and has been to school a total of 1 hour this week. Ugh. I sent her off today only for her to call me at 8am saying she was too sick to continue her day. So, off I went to get her. Poor thing. She really doesn't look good right now, so I believe that she's really sick. I just hope it doesn't attack Peter or I next. Especially with our trip being so close.

I was thinking that shares were a thing of the past b/c if they make you attach it to the bands, there will be no way to share. How about Erin? You guys could actually even share the plus card b/c you will be meeting up? At least paying half the cost would be worth it and if it ends up that you can't share, then at least you and Erin know each other and will be prepared for that??

I just did a share for my trip with Savannah and paid less than 20$ and got so many great shots! If I cannot do a share in the future, I'll just shell out the money for photopass b/c it's totally worth it!

Hey Karen --- I totally agree with Photopass being worth every penny!! Even if I don't get anyone to share with me, it is still worth it to get all those ride pics and character dining pics. It would be up to Erin to see if she'd want to do the regular share. I just can't handle the stress of trying to get the ride and dining photos. Speaking of Erin, where the heck is she?? I'll have to message her on Facebook to see what's up.

Hey there fellow Mainer! I'm from "way down south" in York County. Cornish...almost at the NH border just west of Sebago Lake. I'm glad to see someone still uses PWM...we have to drive to MHT because I like nonstop and since they took all the PWM-MCO nonstops away, just go to MHT. But I am an hour closer than you, only takes us 2 hours to get there. Better than driving into BOS. Maybe someday they will bring nonstop back to PWM. I can't believe they did all that work to the terminal and parking and then got rid of hundreds of flights.

Looks like we will be overlapping in August. I am going the 17th - 24th. We are also staying at POR (preferred requesting building 14). Maybe we will be neighbors

So sorry that Victoria has had such a hard start at life....she seems like such a wonderful girl. I hope things turn around soon for you guys.

I enjoyed reading about your NYC trip...not so much the hotel, but I'm glad your mom had a good time. Wow, you were brave doing NYC on black Friday! I thought Portland was bad

I hear you about the whole school issue. We start the Wednesday before Labor Day...that's why I am going a tad earlier. My little guy is only in K this year, so I'm sure he wouldn't miss much next year. But I just worry about him missing out on that initial bonding with new friends the first couple days. Victoria is old enough hat she has a great friend base already, so that's not very important to her, but for a 6 year old it is. I hope they don't move our start date up any more....I wish it was still after Labor Day. Just let summer be over before putting them back in school! And we don't get out until the 24th of June (as of now...who knows how many more snow days we will get). They hardly have 2 months now

Anyway...looking forward to hearing about your mini trip coming up here n just 14 days! Yay! You must be so excited!

Hello Suzi!!! I've already found you on Facebook and your ptr!! Of course I know where Cornish is... my sarcastic hubby states this is where Cornish game hens come from....yeah, he's like that!

I love to have non-stop flights, but I've only had that one time, so having a layover doesn't bother me at all. I'm very happy to be flying out of PWM!! I know my way around the airport and parking areas and it's just way more convenient for us. I think it is so totally cool that our trips are overlapping, that you are requesting POR Building 14 and that we are both from Maine. What are the odds, after all? Seriously. I look forward to trying to meet you and your family. I'm planning on having our Team August lime green Mickey head on, so you should be able to find me easy enough! I just cannot wait for August!!!

Good for Victoria's cycle. I have had to take medicine before to get them going and it really does make you feel off. BTW - when it has been awhile for me and I do finally start, I have stomach virus like symptoms all the time. So, what Victoria has might not be catching. I have severe nausea and fever and chills with some of mine. So, I feel for her. Good news though, she should be past it and able to enjoy her trip.
