Ok I am going to WDW in August and have a question.

When I am at WDW is it cheaper to make a reservation at the resort or is it the same price later when I get home?

I am guessing that you would put a deposit on the reservation. How does these "bouncebacks" work?

Would it be better to maybe do the Disney Vacation Club? I don't see us going every year to disney, but it is the happiest place on earth :thumbsup2

Please help.

Bouncebacks are great - when they work. They just don't always have the resorts or the dates that you want. But you call from your room and see...it could save you 40%!

If there is a bounceback offer going on while you're there (it's not all the time), you HAVE to book it before you check out to get the discount, you cannot do it from home later. I was still considering booking the bounceback in the car on the drive home (figuring it was still check out day, so I think it would have been fine), but just couldn't make the offer dates work for us. Sad! :guilty:

I know how you feel--I am hooked on going to WDW and
want to go for the best price.

When we were at POR last Sept. we were offered the Bounceback
for the Free Dining. I had to make a decition if we wanted to
take this offer before we would check out from this trip because
that's how long the offer would last. I had to make a $200.00 deposit
before our trip was over by calling the number that was given me
and booking another trip for this year. The advantage that I thought
I got was knowing that I was going to get this FD promo (it was locked in
with my Deposit) and not have to wait around and see if Disney was going
to offer it to the public. We have saved close to $1000.00 each trip
for 3 Adults (my DS is 12 years old and concidered an Adult)
by getting the FD offer and we are able to eat at many nice TS Restaurants
without worrying about how much it will cost.

When we started going to WDW I signed up for a Disney Visa and
they have notified me of several offers from WDW -- special discounted
packages. There are people who swear by AAA discounts--
I don't know much about these--but some say there really good.

If you won't be going every year, I'm not sure DVC is the best Choice.
It does have it's advantages most of those are for people who go often
or at least once a year. I would become a DVC member if the economy wasn't so uncertain.
I am self employed and my business has slowed down
by 1/2 this year.
My DH has been working for the same company for 30 years and there is
no Job security. So we play it by ear each year and see if we can go
just one more time to WDW.
