Nah, it's been blocked for at least three months. Quoting myself from March 1.

Which makes sense, right? I wouldn't expect the refurb to have the building 100% shut down. Presumably they'll go one floor at a time or something like that. So you wouldn't expect ZERO availability, just very limited availability.

I think something fishy is going on with availability in January. Forgot to book a 2b for marathon weekend at 11 months, at 10 months it wasn't available. I know it's a popular weekend but there was a 2 bd available at every other resort, including CC.

I can’t help but think they prioritised VGF and stuck BRV on the back burner, as they had new contracts to sell at VGF.

They are most definitely not acting in the best interests of Boulder Ridge owners, and this makes me furious.

I see now that they are going to get rid of the pirate rooms at CBR? Does DVC have their own crew doing refurbs or do they share Disney resorts? They are speculating the same time frame as our is rumored to be done.

The labor pool is such that it is not really an own crew situation. They subcontract with construction firms, who are all struggling to hire.

Permits filed on June 3rd to renovate Boulder Ridge! It's the same contractor who did the resort studios at VGF. No clear date on a start date but VGF2 took 4 months from the time of permit filing to actual construction. Exciting times!!

It seemed pretty clear by the availability that it was happening. Feel like some will get done in Oct/Nov and then the rest Jan/Feb. Who knows?

That's a good point. Despite how dilapidated BRV is, I'm not sure owners want availability taken away during the holidays. That's a tough one. As a non-owner with no desire to stay there until after the refurb, I say start tearing it down already! Once the reno is complete, I'm sure it will outshine Copper Creek by far in terms of room layout and amenities. I think it will be very difficult for non-owners to book there following the refurb.

It’s unlikely anyone wants their home resort to be under construction with less availability during the holidays but it’s going to happen somewhere. I’m just glad to see some movement on it. I was starting to sweat that a potential Christmas 2023 trip would still see those old rooms.

I lay odds it will be October because we will be there in October. Just this gut feeling. I'd prefer if they had some rooms done that we might be able to get.
