You're not crazy at all, or if you are, then we both are! I started a thread much like this a few days ago for the very same reason. I wanted the kinect, mainly to play
Disneyland Adventures. We could not for the life of us come up with a main gift for DD5 for Christmas and all of our faces lit up when we saw the commercial for Disneyland Adventures.
The
walmart deal is wonderful, but like other posters I'd rather keep my limbs intact and maybe spend a few more dollars. I called walmart and asked about how they were running black friday this year. They did say, at least locally, they are staggering their sales, but the deal I want is right when they open so that's probably not going to benefit me. I was also told they do hand out tickets for the bigger items, and that this xbox deal would more than likely be one of those ticket items. So at least if you brave the line you would be promised one of these systems once the doors opened, so no mad trample needed to get to electronics. Still I decided to pass. The news every year seems to have the headline of "someone trampled to death at Walmart on black friday."

I didn't want that to be me, because I want to actually play this game!
What I finally decided on, after much thought and back and forth thinking. I bought the xbox 4gb for $199 at Target last night and got a $50 giftcard. Target on black friday has the kinect system for $99 and it comes with the adventures game (that they all do) gunslinger and fruit ninjas (usually around $30-$40), and also wipeout 2 ($50.) My mom said she'd buy the Disneyland Adventures game for DD for Christmas, so she'll be ordering that on Tuesday. Target also has on black friday Disney Universe for only $28. We have a coupon for $25 off if you buy the kinect and Just Dance 3 together (a $40 game.) The target in our area has a great plan for black friday. Items that are going to draw a crowd will be placed in 2-3 different locations around the store and manned by a few brave employees. They only let in 50 people, and then a few minutes later let in another 50 so there's no huge herd running in. Also they pass out maps for the store with sale items marked on it while you are waiting in line, so you know where you need to head as soon as you get into the store.
So to sum that mess above up...by Christmas morning after factoring in all giftcards and coupons and including the money my mom is spending on the one game our total out of pocket expenses will be around $305. For that we will have the xbox 4gb system, kinect and 7 games for that price. Not too shabby I think.
