I finally did it... since they are constantly being referred to on Disboards, I shelled out the $39.99 and bought Teva Typhoons. I like them, but it's weird. I normally wear a 7 in shoes, but got away with a size 6 - do they usually run small? I hope they're worth the money!!

I found a pair on sale over the weekend at our local outlet mall. So, now I have 2 pairs of Teva's. I LOVE them and plan to wear them at Disney in October.

Yes, Tevas do run large. I normally wear a 7 1/2 or 8 and have 7's that are plenty roomy. My advice for anybody who has problems with blisters is to get some blistershield or bodyglide and put that on lightly, it makes your feet slippery! Start out wearing the teva's in bare feet but take some socks in your backpack and put them on if you start a blister. This has worked for me for multiple trips now and I haven't gotten a single blister. Gone are the days when I literally could not walk due to blisters and sore feet. If I go in the winter I just wear them with socks all day, looks weird but who cares?

I am sad to say I also bought my first tevas and wore them to the park over the weekend and got 1 blister on my toe...boo hoo I was really looking forward to wearing them!!!!

Teva's are the best sandals made.

I have 3 pair and love them all!

ESPECIALLY THE TEVA STRATUMS! I wear them to work everyday! I wear them everywear!
Can't say enough about my Teva's!

Sorry to hear that. :(
That happened to me as well with my 1st pair of Teva's. I did not break them in yet -being brand new and all.

But I went back to WDW a month later after wearing them for a while - and I had no blisters the second time.

It helps to break them in though!

I've got Teva Pretty Rugged Leather sandals, Teva Mush flip flops, and Teva Olowahu flip flops. I love all three pairs and have never had a blister with them. In fact, when my Croc Niles gave me a blister in May, I had to wear my Teva Pretty Rugged Leather and Teva Mush as they were the only shoes I had that didn't rub the blisters.

My son and D-I-L are coming over this weekend and I've already told them we would go shoe shopping for our Sept trip. I want my D-I-L to try on all three pairs of my Tevas (we wear the same size) to see which ones she likes the best. She has said she refuses to pay $80.00 for a pair of sandals or $27.00 for a pair of flip flops, so I said fine she didn't have to, I will, as I want her comfortable down there. In my case I'll be taking all three pairs of Tevas and will give my Croc Beach another chance. I wore both my Croc Beach and Croc Niles during my May trip (along with the Tevas). The Niles gave me two blisters and the Beach were not near as comfortable as either pair of my Tevas, but my D-I-L has bought both her and my son some Croc Beach and want me to wear mine some, so we'll match. I told her fine as long as she let me buy them some Tevas, just in case the Crocs didn't work again. My feet love my Tevas!

We went to Hershey Park last week, and I wore my Teva's there, and the same thing happened to me. The strap rubbed my big toe raw :sad2: .

Our whole family of 4 wear teva's to theme parks. They are the best! you can get your feet wet and they dry fast. They are especially good for water rides. No need to hold your feet up on the river rapids! Add to them some drip dry shorts and a quick dry shirt and you are set for fun! My son's (6&9) also love wearing Tevas. (I got a deal back in the winter for some kid tevas online.) I usually get lucky and find them on deep discount. No mater what you pay, they are great shoes. I have 4 pair and I am looking for a 5th! We have never had problems with blisters. I agree with the sock idea. Put a pair in your bag just incase you have a sore spot late in the day.

I think it easy to get a raw spot if you don't have the strap adjusted properly for your foot, once you get them set up, though, they rock! I wore mine to Hershey two weekends ago and loved them! My feet stayed cool and dried quickly after the water rides. I found mine discounted at www.rei.com

The Tevas I got are called Typhoon. I wasn't impressed with the other styles with the black cavas type straps, and funky geometric design... but these are just black bottoms with tan suede (I guess) straps.

My question: can I get these wet??

Check with Teva's website. They review all the styles there and usually state what degree of "water-proofness" each has. In general, Tevas are designed to get wet. Not all styles can get "soaked", but they can handle the occasional rain storm and water ride. The only thing to watch is the type of fabric on the straps. Even Teva leather straps are usually waterproof. (Remeber, these shoes got their fame as river guide shoes.) Some of the more recent "fashion" styles are not as waterproof, but you can get them wet.

My whole family LOVES Tevas. Be careful, though. As we have found through experience, there are all different qualities of Tevas. We have found the lesser priced styles to not have as much support or be as comfortable. I've posted in the past that I am sold on Stratum's. They are more comfortable than tennis shoes. My dh wears his Pretty Ruggeds nearly every day in the summer; and my older ds virtually lives in his Terra-Fi's.
