Bought groceries today and got to wondering...

It's the best on a burger or grilled cheese. It's pretty grotesque on its own though.

Does any other kind of cheese originally come from the US? I can't think of one right off hand.

I like American Cheese. Velveeta is the best!

We also eat Kraft macaroni and cheese. It's the cheesiest! :)

Have tried "real" cheeses, don't like 'em. The Frech can have them!

Ezactly!

Monterey Jack, for one.

ETA: Just did a search and found this link to a list of American Cheeses, Colby is probably the other biggest one.

When my son was home last from Germany he said over there there is no german bologna.

Or Velveeta???

What we need is an overseas DISer to help us answer this question!

Anyone? :rolleyes1

I can't believe that I'm admitting this, but I smuggle that stuff across the border. Yes, we have a plug-in fridge in the car, and when we come back to Canada we take like 10 packages of American Cheese to make sandwiches here  And we also bring back Scooby-Doo yogurt for the kids because we don't have that here and the kids love it

We have sort of the same stuff here, but I swear American Cheese tastes so much better to me.
