Both FP+ and FP machines in November??

System does have some bugs to be worked out. I don't get the reasoning for making you take three fps. Just makes things more complicated than they need to be.

As for using both the magic band for fp+ and your rfid green pass for a fp - if you go into the park with the magic band and try to use your pass for a fp at a kiosk - it prints out a ticket that says your card was not used for admission. So no fp. There is a cast member there who may help you but its one or the other.

This did not happen to us. Our green annual pass tickets we had linked to our magic bands also worked for obtaining paper fast passes in the parks. Our room keys worked too.

We are at the airport leaving now. We used fast pass plus on our magic bands, and also were able to get two additional paper fast passes using both our room keys and our green annual pass tickets that we had linked to our magic bands. It was pretty awesome. We essentially triple dipped. :)

Aaaawweeeesooooome!!!! :thumbsup2
Have a safe flight home!

Don't know what the difference is but it was Magic Band or PAP for fast passes for us, not both. We've been here for 5 weeks - leaving tomorrow. The castmember at Magic Kingdom did give us paper ones when our passes didn't work - after she chastized me for not doing it ahead. LOL. We rarely get fast passes for anything anyway but it was cool to be able to reserve Wishes and Fantasmic. Those options were the only reason I did the test -and hate to admit it - so I could get a pink one.

If you enter the park with your magic band - your green pap will not work in the fp machines. The machine knows what you used to enter the park.

Your magic bands and fp+ will still work if you move offsite. You may have trouble with free parking with the green pap though - just carry both with you.
This is interesting. Would I be able to work around this by using my Magic Band to enter a park, using my FP+; then hop to a different park and using my tyvek PAP to enter and pulling regular FP with that? I'm mainly concerned about the lack of FPs for hopping, we usually like to do one park in the am and one in the pm.
Question: You have paper ticket media from Undercover Tourist which you load into MDE, so then it appears on your MB--can't you just take that same paper ticket and use it for the existing FP machines?

We are one of "those" families who like the existing FP system--we send DH running around to get FPs, and we ride the rides we like several times a day--we don't think it's at all weird to enjoy riding E Everest 4 times in a row, for example, using standby line and FP as necessary.

But, clearly FP+ is the wave of the future, so we're trying to be enthusiastic about the change, although for us it will probably make our ride experiences less than what they were.

It would be fun, for this one last time in late November, to be able to do Both!
We're one of those families, too, and I'm also trying to be enthusiastic, but it does seem this level of planning is more tiring than I thought it would be ...

I actually enjoyed pre-planning my vacation with my sisters family. It wasn't hard to change them the evening before or that day. But I did notice the later in the day we got and if I tried to change a time or selection the choices were limited FOR that same day. I tried to change a FP+ within the hour given of that FP+ I had chosen but it wouldn't let me.

We were able to use or KTTW card they had given us as well but only did once.

There were tons of glitches with the MB especially with all the systems and APP and website trying to talk to one another. When they worked it was awesome.

Well I ordered the MB and went on to look at choices for FP+ for 1 day and saw the 3 per picked choices and that was the end of that. I really have no interest in planning, no smart phone and do not want to visit a kiosk in perk. We often do not even know what park we are going to or if we get there and gets crowded leave and go somewhere else. Now people are saying if I use this MB to enter park I can not get any FP. I don't want to double dip I just want to walk up to attraction look at board and decide if the FP window shown fits my schedule and get one or not. We are going in Oct for 3 weeks would you want to preplan that?
I started out trying to plan our arrival day at bwv and going to Epcot and was frustrated by the "choices" they pre picked for me to chose from?
I can only hope that what someone else posted that was written by a CM is correct that they will have both. But now am worried if I use the MB to get in I will not be able to get ANY FP?:confused3

...do not want to visit a kiosk in perk.

How is that any different than visiting a paper ticket FastPass machine?

Wouldn't bother me a bit.

I'd probably pick one random park for each day. Select the attractions I know we enjoy, at times which correspond to when we would typically be in the parks.

If the day arrived and we decided not to go to that park, go at a different time, ride different attractions, etc., I'd just change my selections from the hotel or upon arrival at the new destination.

Would probably take me all of 10 minutes to make random selections for a 3 week trip.

Paper machine I am at ride look at return time make choice. Yes no. No computer involved.
I do not chose to plan for three weeks no less for one day. It has nothing to do with time either. When I went to chose for 1day Epcot 3 FP the site gave me 3 choice of time that they chose, not that I chose . Looked at their choices and chose none. Everyone is different, just stating my viewpoint.:goodvibes

And with the new system, you pick an attraction and select your own desired ride time, and never have to mess with any machines the rest of the day. There really isn't a whole lot of difference between the two.

Your prerogative. But soon enough the paper tickets will no longer be an option.

Might want to give it a shot before deciding that you'll hate it. Just sayin'. ;)

I spoke with both tech support and our concierge on Friday. Supposedly no firm date for full park-wide on line. Annual pass holders still not eligible, some other ticket holders not. My brother in laws' both linked their AP's but my family of 6 won't even with tech help, so they are looking into. I'm optimistic for the long run, but watching people all the time and there seem to be a LOT of glitches (though I think they are handling them well)

Like I said when I went on line it did not give me my a choice to pick my ride time. They gave me their pick of times and I had to chose from them. As I am arriving later in the day the times they gave me did not fit for me. But maybe I will just pick 3 and not use them or use one. Since it is Epcot it is not a big deal. but for rest of trip I do not want 3 FP+ that I can't or don't use and it locks me out of using the regular machine.
It's kinda like the DP that we used once and only once do not like planning and having to be somewhere every day at a set time. Too much stress. :cool1:
