the girl who died and got a moment of silence at the game?

In the rioting the other night, she was shot by police in the eye by a "pellet". She died several hours later. It is a tragic story here, in all the papers and on tv. Basically it sounds like she was just an innocent bystander who was unfortunately in the wrong place at the wrong time. My heart goes out to her family.

There were a lot of rowdy fans outside of Fenway after the Game 7 win the other night. Some began to climb up on the walls of Fenway and light cars on fire, etc...The Boston Police fired a pepper spray bullet into a crowd and it hit her in the face and she died from her injuries. It's been a major source of discussion here in MA - in the papers, on the talk shows - very sad...she was a major Red Sox fan.

She was also an Emerson college student. I believe she was majoring in journalism.
