Is $199 round trip/non stop on Delta from Logan to Orlando Intl in January a good fare?

I've flown for $100 round trip the last 4 trips I made to Orlando-

September 2000
January 2001
September 2001
and
March 2002

I'm just thinking that the airlines may have cut back on the number of flights and this is probably as low as it's going to get.

Opinions please.

I think the 199 fare is about as low as it is going these days we to have flown a lot cheaper but lately ths seemsto b te cheapest I can find

anniet--

I see you are on the South Short--Howdy neighbor, I am in East Bridgewater, but grew up in Hingham.

Check out Southwest from TF Green in Providence. I was looking at the Delta non-stops out of Logan fluctuating between $199 and $206. I snapped up 3 R/T non stops from TF Green to Orlando on the $79 each way special. With all fees and taxes the total for the 3 of us was $575. About $175 each.

I don't think you will see much lower than $200 out of Logan. Have you also looked into flying into Tampa? It's only about an hour and 15 minute drive to WDW, and there are some good Southwest fares there as well.

What are your dates in Jan? We are going Jan 25-Feb 5th.

Good Luck

I think those are excellent fares! We got 224.00 for this April vacation (had to book each leg seperately or wouldn't have gotten the lowest fares) and these flights are now 294.00 ONE WAY. I feel bad for anyone from our area wanting to go to DW this April vacation, forget about it, its ridiculous. So I say grab it before it disappears.

Thanks all! I'll book them today, I had been checking Southwest, but never saw the rate go below $211 and now they've lumped the $97 fare one way with the $127 fare!

Plus I'd like to fly into Orlando, since I got a car for $398 including taxes for the two weeks, which is a bargain, I think!

Ummm....Debster, we really are neighbors!!!!!!!!!!!! I grew up in Marshfield, but I am currently in Abington:)

We are flying to Florida on 1/18, but visiting friends the first few days. We will be at WLV from 1/21 through 1/31.

Don't have any advice on the ticket......but just wanted to say "Hi" from another "home girl".

I was born and brought up in Whitman.

well, figmenvi, you are just going to have to come to Disney in January with Debster and me!:p

We can make it an offsite block party.

(okay so the block is pretty big, but who cares?)

Even though I am a North Shore person My Aunt use to live in Whitman and now lives in East Bridgewater and her brother My Uncle lives in Abington and my BIL use to live in Marsh Field plus DH best friend lives in St. Croix so can I caome to the block party We will be at BCV for 1-15-21 with family and then 1-31-2-3-02 with just DH and I Have fun all Brenda

Also from the south shore.....

We paid around $150 last january from boston. That was with US air, it was we had to stop in Phili each way.

We're paying $199 pp in Aug. It was more expensive to fly out of Green. We prefer to fly out of Green but not for $50 more a ticket and not getting non-stop. So, it looks like Logan this time. Will also probably use the bus shuttle from ShoppersWorld.
Love Marshfield. Some of my best childhood memories are from there. Spent a lot of time in Green Harbors.
Any of us, besides me, going in Aug??????

We usually go the end of Aug and that is the plan this year. Usually what happens is the airlines lower the airfares for the end of the summer in late June or early July. We've gone the past three years for between $98 and $109 from both Logan or Green. Green seems to be higher priced lately. Waiting is chancey but if we don't get a good aifare after waiting we always have a plan to drive down.

Add me to the list of South Shore Home Girls!
I've lived on the coast in Hull most of my life!!
I'll be visiting WDW in 9 days.
I watched
the air prices faithfully all summer and the lowest I could get roundtrip non-stop out of Logan was $199.
TF green is worth looking into by most flights are connecting.
The airlines have cut flights dramatically this past year I too used to be able to get flights for under $120 but no more. :(
Our original flight home was cancelled and they put us on a different flight home just 1 week after we bought the tix.
Oh well, I'll be sure to let all the Disney CM's know the South Shore Girls will be in The World soon!!

...so how do we recognize DIS people? Did I read something about lime green ribbons?

I hope debster and goofy4wdw will be wearing theirs!

I'll be looking for you! I'll wear one too....just look for a five foot Italian gal with brown hair with an almost six foot blonde haired blue eyed handsome man! (okay well at least I think he's handsome!:p )

The only "PLAN" we have right now is to watch the Fantasy in the sky fireworks from the bar at the California Grill in the Contemporary on 25th around 7:00p.m. So stop by if you can!

I'll be the one with what they tell me is a contagious laugh (that gets more frequent the more I drink!)

p.s. I hesitated and lost.....the $199 fare just went up to $231:eek: ....I'm considering other options through Green now.

OK, so now that I seem to have started a MAJOR derailment/hijack of this thread, do you think we need our own 'South Shore Home Girls' thread???? ;)

I already knew about Figmentvi (My DIS-Con pal) But had no idea how many of us were out here!

Holy smokes    I had no idea there were so many of us here.

sweetieRN.....I'll be at WDW in 12 days (going for DISCON). You'll be seeing lots of lime green ribbons I'm sure.

My two DD's are going as well. One of whom is "autochick" who also posts on the DIS and is from Middleboro.

goofyforwdw.........I sent you a PM.

Linda

I, too, am surprised about all the south shore girls that responded to this. I have been here my whole life, except college! Grew up in Rockland and raising 3 kids on the south shore, wouldn't move for anything. Love my trips to WDW. As for the airfare, anything around $200 is great now. I monitor it all the time, but no great fares to recently. June/July there are usually great rates. We ususally go in the cold months here, and for the first time went down in Aug. UGH! Too hot. Too busy! Go Nov/Dec/Jan/Feb/Mar/April. May is nice too.

Ahhhhh...can I be an 'honorary' south shore girl??? My step-sister lives on a cliff in Hull, my dad lived in Scituate and now in Quincy and my in-laws are on Cape. I spent summers in Marshfield, well, week-ends anyway. Can I, please??!! None of the central ma guys want to.

Yes I do, but the moderators might not like it on the Transportation Board-

How about we start one on the Community Board, and that way we can all keep in touch there?

I am SOOOO excited that I have neighbors who love Disney as much as I do...unfortunately my family thinks I lost it many years ago!

I have been checking pretty regularly since early summer and this was the best we came up with. I think anything under $200 round trip is worth scooping up.

Unfortunately I never saw the $79 fare!:(

Oh, well...for some freaky reason, Delta went up to $231 for one day and then came back down to $199 so I scooped THAT one up. Thank you all for all of your help!

I'll post a thread re:South Shore on the Community Board- sometime today so check it out there!

Thanks again to All!!!!!!!!!!
