Boston Area DiSers

Thanks for the response. As I said before, everyone has a different recipe all over NY. If you lived in western NY, do you consider yourself an honorary NYer?
As in "the big apple"? - No. I grew up in a relatively rural area, and live closer to NYC now (in MA) than I did then, in NY.

Bostonians, do you enjoy Manhattan clam chowder?
Yes, since it was the first kind I was exposed to, and I love seafood in general. I still like both, but I think I like New England style better.

(For anyone who couldn't watch the video, it has pretty much the same "chunky" ingredients as New England style, but a clear tomato base instead of a creamy dairy one.)

It’s not something I’ve ever tried, that I recall. I love NE CC too much! (Now I want some!)
Bostonians, NYS has many haunted hotels. What are some well known haunted hotels in the Boston area?
Oh, gosh, there are many! Lots of books and articles written about NE hauntings. Ghost tours are really fun, too. There is a lot of revolutionary war history near me. A friend lives in one of the oldest houses here and says it’s haunted but doesn’t like to talk about it. There are paths that were once main thoroughfares for Indians and colonists, and old taverns and railroad tracks, etc.

I had an experience once at a cemetery when I was on a photography scavenger hunt. I caught something on camera unexpectedly. It creeped me out a little but I also thought it was pretty cool.
I don't either, but I can eat clam chowder as long as the camls are minced up pretty small. I really just don't like chewing them. I prefer New England style personally too.
When DD was small we told her they were chicken and she loved ”cram” chowder. Now she hates seafood and won’t go near it. DH and I, when we go out, often each get a cup of chowder, then split a sea scallop meal. So good!

I meant a New Yorker as in a resident of New York State.

I encourage anyone who hasn't tried it (and likes clams) to give it a chance in the future.

We have similar historic buildings/hotels/trails in the Hudson Valley. They were fun to visit and explore growing up.

Could you post the picture? I would love to see a ghost on film.

You could have told her it was chicken from the sea....:rotfl2:;)

There's definitely more to do where I am now! (I actually sometimes miss the slower pace. 😆 )

I do miss the hills, especially in the fall, but here I have ocean to make up for it!
Did you root for NY teams growing up or were you always a Boston sports fan?
