Borrowing Question - Waiting for Resale Contract To Come Through

If I borrow points to make a reservation, can I change reservation and move the points back, or is borrowing a final decision?
I am a current DVC member and I also just closed on a resale contract. The deed was just recorded two days ago, so I am still waiting for points. I am hoping to book a trip for MLK weekend, but won’t have enough points for the whole stay until after I get new contract points.
Can I borrow points from my current contract to secure the reservation, then put them back (“unborrow them”) and use my new contract points for the reservation instead?

Borrowing is a final transaction. During the early months of the pandemic, MS was putting back borrowed points if a reservation was cancelled. I believe they stopped that months ago.
