We have booked a 1BR at OKW for Christmas, 2003. My use year is December and after my Christmas year I will have 150 points left in my 2003 use year. We are planning on doing Hawaii in July 2004 and it costs 160 points. My question: Can I book Hawaii now using my 2003 use year points and borrowing 10 points from 2004 or do I have to wait until December to borrow those 10 points?
thanks

If you are within your booking window, you will be able to borrow for a ressie.

Have a great time!

Whenever you make the Hawaii reservation will be when you borrow the 10 points. You don't have to wait until December.

I thought that since I am still in my 2002 use year, I couldnt borrow from 2004 until 2003 year starts (on December 1st 2003)?
thanks

Points usage goes by the date of the stay, not the date of the reservation. So when you book a trip for July 2004, they look at the points that will be available in July 2004, not on the date of reservation. The stay will be in your December 2003 use year, so you can use banked 2002, current 2003 and borrowed 2004. You can book at the 11 month window for Hawaii. Be sure your plans are firm - once you take points outside of DVC, they cannot be returned to use at a DVC resort.

i believe the only time this restriction is the case is if you have not yet closed on your contract.
i.e. when you first buy a contract (new or add-on) from Disney, you can make ressies, you can bank current points to your next use year, and you can borrow points from your next use year into current use year; but you cannot borrow from 2 years ahead if your deed hasn't been recorded yet. (this happened to me with my recent BWV add-on)
you should be fine if you're closed already though! HTH.

Thanks for your replies. Now all I have to do is figure out which island and which resort to stay at. Any suggestions?
Thanks
