Borrowed Points

I made a reservation that required borrowing points. I would like to revise the reservation but it will use 6 less points. I understand that the borrowing was a final transaction so the points will need to be used this use year.
If I don't plan on using the points are there any option so the points are not "lost"? Is renting them an option - I am not sure what that entails. Any thoughts are appreciated.

Did you use any current year points in the reservation? You should be able to have the borrowed points used, and the current year points returned. Then the current year points could be banked to next year.

You are 100% correct. I called Member services just after posting and was able to shift my reservation and the 6 available points can be banked.
sigh of relief because even one wasted point would make me SAD!!
