Good thing I subscribe to this thread! I never would have found it.

Hey, I need some suggestions. My Sunday school class is going through a rough transition. We used to be a very tight-knit group, but we have become disconnected over the last year. We're having a class meeting in the morning, and we would like some ideas. We're losing our teacher (moving), so our choices are to disolve the class, another teacher step up, or merge with another class. All of us want to stay together. One member has agreed to teach through the end of summer. She'll be great! But we still have the problem of being disconnected. We plan things, like potlucks, keno games (for the ladies), etc, and everyone seems interested, but most people end up cancelling at the last minute.

I would very much appreciate any input you have to offer, and would appreciate prayers for us, too. I love these people, and they are the reason my husband decided to start coming to church (and soon got saved!). I would hate to lose what little connection there is left, but I'm so FRUSTRATED!

Thanks in advance for your help.

Jim- Thanks for sharing your story:goodvibes

shovan - Im praying for your niece.

I have an update on my cousin. She decided to have the abortion:sad1: The doctors told her that she would probably lose the baby if she kept it. Doctors also told her that she would never be able to get pregnant again and they were wrong about that.

Carrie,
I am keeeping you and your cousin in my prayers! I pray she will get counselling to help her deal with the grief so she can heal.

Happy Easter! there is a church at a home near mine and they had out a cross with a black cloth on it all weekend, and this morning on our way to church, white cloth!!! :)

A beautiful message in church today out of Matthew 28 on Jesus
rising and his gift of life to all the believers.

Praise God we serve a Risen Savior!

He arose!
............... HE AROSE!
................................ HALLELUJAH CHRIST AROSE!

Just giving this thread a bump.

I just started reading the book "A Wife After Gods Own Heart" it's really good, offers some great advice. Anyone else read this?

Great! And you?

And I love Elizabeth george. I have read a few. I thought that might be one of hers. Enjoy!

I'm doing well, thanks.:)

We really enjoyed the service today at the Baptist church, turns out today a friend of DD's, his brother and mom were Baptized, that was awesome to watch. :goodvibes

DH saw how much the kids enjoy the Wednesday "Kingdom Kids" night at the church and it was his suggestion we try the service today. We also went to service last night at the Christian church we've been attending. We wanted to go to both, back to back, to compare better. Next week we're just going to the Baptist church, the kids are going to the Sunday school and DH even wants to go back to the bible study I loved so much. Yay! :woohoo:

Is it a certain study? I love Bible Studies!

Glad you had a nice service and saw your friends baptized!!

I did a Bible study with about 40 women using this book. It was wonderful! One of the best studies I've ever done. You'll really enjoy it - after you get past all of that "submit" stuff ;) .

Hi! :goodvibes I had forgotten about this thread. Glad to see it back around. I'm a United Methodist pastor with a deep desire to see the church reach out into the world in new ways, Being a part of mainline denomination, it seems like this desire is sometimes in conflict with the institution that is the church. I found this great new book that I will soon be leading a study on in my church. It talk about 6 crucial choices congregations must make, and is quite thought provoking.

It's just a bible study, adult "Sunday school" type class.

Yeah, well, I love SS class also. I love being able to ask a few of my million questions!:rotfl: We're doing Beth moore's Wising Up series right now (on Sunday nights). So far, it is really good. Different than most of hers as it has no homework. I actually miss the homework because it helps guide me in a "dig". If you ever get a chance to do a Beth Moore study, take it! They are very, very good.

Zip, I'm checking out your book also!
