Born Again Christians Thread-No Bashing please

Hi All!!! I didn't know this thread existed...awesome! Not sure I will ever find the time to read all previous posts but it is heartning to see a Christain thread available.

Isn't it sad how some people can make us feel? I only came to Christ six years ago & have often been in circles where I've been referred to as the "baby Christian" & any insights I tried to share were discounted. However, I have an amazing relationship with the Father that is real & alive & two-way. He has blessed me inmeasureably, even in my trying times...yes, I've had those too!! And I've spent many an hour on my knees or on my face before Him, asking the questions & listening for the answers!! Anyway, we're called to love not judge so try all of you to extend a little grace on one another & forgive those who may have exhibited some :snooty: attitudes!!

Carrie S....one poster out of 100's looked down on you because you were raised Mormon & you left the board? That's a shame....for the board!! Don't allow people's un-Christlike behaviour to affect your decisions...you are not responsible for their reaction only your own! Welcome back!

Have Valentines everyone!!!

Thankyou.
It wasnt this message board,it was a different one
I stopped going on that message board when the person was made a moderator.I had other people on that board say nasty things to me too,I had people tell me that my mormon family wont be going to heaven, and that was right after my grandma had died.I did meet some great Christians on that message board but I dont think I'll go back to it.

:cool1: Hello All,:cool1:

Welcome to all those who love Jesus and desire to learn more about him or fellowship. To those who have been hurt in the past, I'm sorry; but you are welcome here. Let's all move forward together.:grouphug:

Update on us and my prayer request.

Thank you all for the prayers! Things are going much better, we found out we're getting a very nice return on our taxes and it's like a weight has been lifted from our shoulders! This is really going to help us finally start to make our way out of financial hole we fell into. I'm so thankful for all our blessings.

God is good, all the time!:)

Kristin that is wonderful! Praise God! We still need to set an appointment to have ours done. But I have faith that God will help us get out of debt. I already see Him working with DH's promotion and salary increase!

Long time since I have posted on this one!

I'm on week 2 of Beth Moore's study on DANIEL. Has anyone here done this study yet? Or is anytone doing it now? I am loving it, as I always love her studies.

My ladies Bible study group at church finished Dainel a few months ago and we are 1 week away from finishing The Patriarchs. I loved Dainel. Very interesting!!! We too love Beth moore we have done all her studies but 2. Mt favorite was Beleiving God, Jesus the one and only, or Livivng beyond yourself. There are so many good ones.

I think my favorite one was A Woman's Heart, God's Dwelling Place. (I think that was her title for it). It was an awesome study. They have all been very good!

Hi, hope it's ok to jump into this thread. I love Beth Moore Bible studies!! I've done several of them. I agree A Woman's Heart God's dwelling place was my fav! Right now I'm doing Believing God online. I really like doing it online, watching the video, having the questions and workbook online.

Our ladies Bible study has done numereous studies. But I was only involved with one 12 week study. We had done "God at Your Wits' End" by Marilyn Meberg (Women of Faith).

I didn't go back after this study. Even though I have known the ladies for a long time, we are at different spirital levels in our walk with God. Because my viewpoints were different then theirs and more open, I was looked down upon. I was being treated as if my viewpoints were flat out wrong.

Our church does have other Bible studies, but the other ladies' study is done with SAHM's and done while I'm at work. This is the group who is pretty much at the same spiritual level as I am and are open to discussing without putting someone down b/c their viewpoint differs.

Of course it's ok to jump right on in :goodvibes ! I didn't know Bible Studies could be done online in the way you have described. Do you have a link?

http://www.lifeway.com/believinggod/ It does cost money to do it. It's a go at your own pace. It's designed for a 12 week study, but there isn't a 12 week limit on it. I've started it awhile ago, and have been going at a slow pace.

Yesterday, we had a shortened bell schedule, and our teacher let us go down to the library to get a book report we were going to do if we wanted to.

Since I had a little time to kill, I popped C.S. Lewis' name in the database to see if they had any of his essays like Mere Christianity. It turned out there were quite a few and borrowed The Screwtape Letters. There was also this HUGE book that all of his essays together.

Did anyone here enjoy the Screwtape Letters?

I have never read Screwtape Letters but I have a client who has and thought it was really good. I think I remember her saying it was pretty deep. Someday... :)

I started Believing God on line but didn't finish. I have dial up (which is a slow pain, LOL). I believe my church does have Believing God (I know we did it but maybe we borrowed it from another church.) I would love to do that one.

Just wondering what the differing views were, cybrkitn? I've never encountered that type of thing. Well, we're all on different parts of our walks and different maturity levels but nothing so big to divide like that. Usually I learn a lot of the more mature.

Yes, I read that many years ago when I first became a Christian at 17. It was pretty creepy, and opened up to me the dark side of human nature which was very frightening but enlightening. I have come to love C.S. Lewis, especially 'Mere Christainity'. I will have to go find 'The Screwtape Letters' and read it again.
