Cristy,
I am a believer that we have to take steps of faith. For instance, our DD goes to a private Christian school. This is very important to me and to her. We do it on a year to year basis because we are not rich. However, God has always provided the money for her education. For 7 years I have not known where I'll get the money from and yet, for 7 years, it is always there when the time comes to pay tuition. We have never took out a loan or borrowed from family etc. I believe that God has promised me that if I will send her and use my money wisely that He'll provide for her education.
It is only a step of faith when you don't have the money. You know, for your DH to return to school because you have the money on hand doesn't really have anything to do with having faith. It is when you pray about it, know that God wants him to return and he signs up that you take a step of faith.
Please don't confuse this with me saying to spend money like crazy because God will provide you with payment. That isn't what I believe. I am not a risk taker at all--esp. with my money! But God has proved to me over and over again that when I am in His Will, He provides a way.
I have never read this book but I love the title--You can't walk on water if you won't step out of the boat.
Oh, and I was thinking the same thing about lawman's posts. I guess when you have something you want to say, you'll find a way of saying it.
