Which resorts have the worst pool

ex. overcrowding, boring, not fun

For my kids, the only boring pool is one without water. Actually, they could probably have fun in that too as long as we had some balls but we'd have to call it something else or I'd have an arguement on my hands. LOL Our only requirement for a pool really is water so we've enjoyed every pool we've ever tried. This includes even the computer pool at Pop which really is just a plain rectangle with no features at all. I brought water balls and they had a blast between that and playing marco polo.

What are your requirements for a good pool?

All pools can get overcrowded at times so it's hard to say that one will be better than another from that perspective.

disney does a good job with the all pools as far themeing goes. the values have no slides but are still really cool. some pools can get crowded via pool hoppers though..2 that seem to have alot of those are the poly and bc/yc.

I thought they were really cracking down on hoppers, making them show resort ID to get into the pool.

That's a pretty subjective question.

I agree with the fact that the only boring pool is one with no water or undergoing a refurb.

That being said, some people prefer the zero entry pools with little ones, like at SSR or CBR.

Some prefer the theming, like say at POP.

Some like me, prefer the quiet pools at POR, my home resort. I stay away from the main pool.

Some enjoy ones that have screens playing movies, like the CR.

It is all a matter of taste and what you are looking for - one is no worse or no better than the rest.

Well, except for the dreaded clown.... but we won't go there.

Totally subjective, but as far as deluxes go, we won't return to the Poly or Contemporary, in the summer, because of the pools.

The volcano pool at the Poly is way too small and overcrowded.
The Contemporary pool is just in the dullest setting with no real shade at all. We actually hated the outside look & feel of the Contemporary (but loved the inside and the room).

In the summer the pool is important to us - our favorite is Stormalong Bay followed by both pools at the Grand and the one at the Wilderness Lodge.

Not a fan of the Poly pool. It is very crowded and not particularly clean. DH and I emerged from it one night covered and I mean covered in bugs. I guess no one had skimmed the pool in a long while. I have never, ever had that experience at any other Disney resort.

I was at Yacht club 10-2010 and we had to show Key card to get into pool and they made no exceptions. A family came and one had forgotten key card and they had to wait until that person went back to the room to get it. The entire time I was there, they had somebody posted at entrance to pool checking cards.

Value obviously, no slides, overcrowded.

A couple of the Deluxe ones are best, BC, Poly. CSR is the best moderate IMO, and better than a couple of the deluxe (again IMO)

I was at Yacht club 10-2010 and we had to show Key card to get into pool and they made no exceptions. A family came and one had forgotten key card and they had to wait until that person went back to the room to get it. The entire time I was there, they had somebody posted at entrance to pool checking cards.

We were also there 10-2010 and they were checking key cards as well. Once we showed them our card, they gave us all bright green wristbands to wear. I didn't see anyone at SAB without a wristband.

IMHO the worst pool in the "moderate" category is at POFQ - boring tiny slide and little in the way of cool water features.

Having only done BC/YC and WL in the "deluxe" category I really don't know which one is the worst, but I love Stormalong Bay, and I really would like to see WL's pool get a major refurb with a longer slide and perhaps zero entry. And maybe a better children's splash pool.

It's got to be the Villas at WL. I know you can go to the real pool at the Lodge, but the one at the villas itself if crazy small. The good thing about it, is that no one is ever there, especially kids, if you want something quite.

Here's a pic. The pool is almost as big as the hot tub.

I was about to vote for CR as the most BORING pool but saw the pic for WL. That does look lame. Is it the only one?

We loved the pool at POR.

I think my DDs least favorite pool was WL - the slide is really small and the pool is quite small for the size of the resort.

Overcrowded pools are not fun at all.
It doesn't matter where the pool is, but it does matter how many are IN it.
I like to at least have my own space, without being crashed into constantly.

That's so true. When I was at All-Star Music I loved the pool but on movie night I had to struggle not to be punched in the face by wayward fists all evening and that wasn't very exciting. It made us very happy to end up at Coronado Springs the next trip.

Well obviously you're looking for opinions which are subjective, so here's my take.

Worst pool because of design . . . Boardwalk. Doesn't give me the warm Disney feeling sliding through a clown's mouth. Two thumbs down.

Best pool because of design and every other reason possible, SAB at Beach Club. Love, love, love it.

Well, my vote for most overcrowded resort pool would be a tie between the Hippy Dippy pool at POP and the Volcano pool at Poly.

I like all the mod pools.

The most boring pool award I would have to give to the computer pool at POP or either of the two pools at GF. They just didn't do it for me as far as theme.

The award for the most crowded and boring DVC pool I would give to the main pool at SSR. They have a quiet pool there that rocks compared to the main pool IMO.

The pools I liked the best are the quiet pool at Poly, the quiet pool Inn side at BWI, the Hippy Dippy pool, and the pool at BLT.

But my favorite all time pool is the pool at AKL Jambo, which I think is hands down the most lovely, well themed, spacious, and comfortable pool.

Agree about the pool at SSR. I prefer the one in the Grandstand section.
