Boozin’ It Up 12/5-12/7 coming ASAP

Next time you see a date they have the Ent. rate for that you think could be a possiblity I'd honestly just say book it right away, even if you aren't sure just yet. Nobody had officially said they would be joining me in September wehn I booked mine, but I didn't want to miss the dates and the rate. Then if things don't work out you can cancel your reservation. Too bad that you couldn't get it for those dates anymore though. I know the Ent. rate played a big role in convincing some people about my September plans.

I am seriously kicking myself for that. Last night I told myself that I should just book it even if I didn't know when I was going or who with. I had the reservation up, looking at the different rooms and everything, but I didn't book. Low and behold, today they are gone. My luck. Kicking myself so hard. A hotel within walking distance for $59 a night would have been a great way of convincing.

How can anyone seriously say no to Disneyland?!?! It's impossible right?!?! We don't live in some alternate universe, use DLR loving folks, do we? On second thought, don't answer that! I hope you can convince at least one person to go. Crunching numbers for how much I would have had to pay with 1, 2, 3, or even 4 people showed me just how much a difference it makes cost wise. It really can be a deal breaker.

And hey, the good thing about the TR's - they aren't going anywhere!!
I have one person saying she really wants to go but isn't sure when/if she could get time off work. If she can go, she wants to also invite one of her friends. I also have one of my/my brother's friend saying he would love to go if he could convince my brother to go too.

So those would be really good outcomes, but everyone seems to being taking their sweet time in deciding. I guess they don't know how crazy I am about planning and getting details arranged early on. 1 of those things might happen, both might, or possibly neither. Both would be amazing. I can't tell if I am being impatient...only a month away seems scary.

WOO HOO! I'm going to Disneyland in 12 days!!:cool1::yay::woohoo::love::cheer2:

My dad decided he wanted to take my nephew to Disneyland so we're all going down there together! Totally solves my not wanting to pay for it by myself thing. We're splitting gas and hotel fee and I am paying for my ticket. One of my brothers showed interest in going, so if he decides he wants to go, then that reduces the price too.

Man this is the most last minute trip I've had to plan. I just booked us 3 nights at Desert Inn. We really want to walk, and it was the least expensive that I could find. We are getting the C1 Family Suite at $169/night. I stayed there last time and loved the location, so I am happy with that.

I'll probably split the time with my friend, with my fam, and then I can go off on my own too if I want. I can test out what it'd be like to do a solo trip, and then might go on one sometime in the future if I gain the guts.

So on top of splitting the cost, I am also thinking of other ways to make it not seem like I'm dropping all this money at once(I'm a goob, I know). I think I'm going to buy a park hopper ticket at Safeway this week, and then when I am at the park I will upgrade it to an Annual Pass. Then it feels a bit like a payment plan, see?

So to recap, we will be leaving Saturday August 8 after I get off work(so about 4), and then with a stop in Bakersfield to pick up my nephew, we will continue to Anaheim. Park days are Sunday and Monday, and then we'll leave Tuesday morning. Depending on what time we get to Anaheim on Saturday, I might go to the park by myself to upgrade my pass.

I'M SO EXCITED!

Yay I am so glad that you don't have to go alone because I know you didn't want to.:goodvibes

Oh me too! It's my nephew's first time too(he's 9), so it will be neat to see his reaction to it. He loves video games so I am sure he will go crazy over Buzz and TSMM

That should be so much fun.

I'm feeling a tad odd about this just-decided trip in 11 days. I'm not positive where I'll be or who I will be with at any time, so I don't exactly feel like I can create an itinerary for my days, or get PS's for any meals. The overplanner is freaking out just a bit. I need something to plan other than just the room! I'm supposed to go into the parks and improvise? So weird....

Just bought my Deluxe AP online before the prices change! Have my eticket all ready to go. Hotel and Ticket are done.

I marked out my appointment book at work an hour early for this coming Saturday so that we can get on the road when it's still the afternoon. By Friday I'll probably have myself booked out completely :lmao:

Edit:
I forgot to show you who is going on this trip with me.

Here is a picture of my dad and my nephew Ethan in December:

And here is me and my dad at a San Jose Giants game last night:

I totally know how you feel! I'm a huge planner and on our next trip we don't know exactly who will be joining us so planning PS is kind of on hold and up in the air. On the other hand, not having a plan and being able to do what you want when you want can be very fun. :goodvibes

You are only 2 days away!!!! :cool1: :cheer2:

I have just felt so strange! I've pretty much only had to pack, and I went to the grocery store this morning to get breakfast items for the weekend. I'm sure beig so free will be great when I get to Disneyland.

AHH! So soon. I'm at work waiting on a client's color to process. Then I need to cut her, do another color/cut client and then I'm outta here!:woohoo:

I can't believe i missed this trip report before, have just read through it all now :) Looks like such a fun trip with your mum and i love your pictures.

Glad you didn't end up having to go back to DL alone, infact as its like 1am here that means it's like 5pm where you are so if you still managed to leave around 4 you'll be on your way to Disneyland YAY, hope it's a fantastic trip for you and can't wait to read all about it :)

I am new on these boards but I do a lot of lurking. I love your trip report, plenty of detail... I am going for my birthday trip this Friday with my dad, so I am interested in how busy things are this week! I will be subscribing if you don't mind.. :goodvibes

It's really late(or early!) but I am in our hotel room at Desert Inn. They do have free internet, yay!

I had a crazy color client today that took some time so I didn't get to leave work until 3:35. We left San Jose at 4:30, got gas, picked up my nephew off Stockdale highway at 7:30, and got in a bit before 10pm. Really good time. I snuck out of the hotel to process my AP and wander a bit. I didn't want my nephew knowing where I was going because he can't go until tomorrow morning. I rode Indiana Jones as a single rider, got on Haunted Mansion 40 minutes before its anniversary(only a 5 min wait!), and then rode Peter Pan at midnight. I wandered around a whole lot too. I ran into some of my brother's friends towards the end of the night. His bff gave me some money to buy him 40th anniversary Haunted Mansion Merch tomorrow since he has to leave in the morning. I drank coffee steadily throughout the day to stay awake for the drive and now I'm antsy. Too bad I am waking up in 5 hours! Woo hoo Disneyland!!

PS It is MUGGY.

Oh, have a wonderful time! I'll think happy thoughts all day for you.

I am home! But alas, my laptop is broken. The motherboard is bad(apparently the most expensive repair on a laptop?) and I need to send it in to Dell to get it fixed. The motherboard is not speaking to the hard-drive and not allowing it to start up. Soo this means I don't have anything to upload my photos to. This Trip Report will have to be stalled :sad2:

We had the motherboard go out on a computer and I was told that I may as well just buy another laptop. I was so sad, I loved that laptop. I hope your can be saved.

My limited warranty ended in April, so the guy I took it to said I should call Dell and see if I can extend the warranty and then a few days later call and say something happened to it :P. So I did call Dell and got the warranty extended for about $100. He said normally it could be $300+ without the warranty. I should be able to get it fixed now.

Welcome home, hope your trip was good :)
Sorry to hear about your laptop, hope it doesn't take to long to get fixed.
