Booze in Bahamas

hi, can someone tell me the best place to buy alcohol in Nassau?

we just got back from the 4 day wonder and i thought the liquior on the ship was cheaper to buy than on the island. example, we purchased a good size bottle of bailey's for $15 and the second one was $13 and on nassau the same bottle was $18 with no discount for a second bottle like on the ship.

When we were looking around..we found most liquor shops to have the same prices. We found one very close to port..a little larger, can't remember the name. They were set up for tasting all the local rums in the middle. Very nice people

Hubby got a bottle of scotch..for $100, he said was $150 here.

We got tangeray, godiva white chocolate liqour, absolut vanilla, the local rums of course, as they are very good, flavored and regular. Can't remember the other things now..lol.

We found the prices to be cheaper in nassau than the US on everything. We didn't have any additional taxes because we weren't over our limit. We had three adults in the cabin. Even if you do go over..the fees are so small you still come out way ahead.

Like everything..just know your prices before hand, and what you are looking for, then it will be easy to make up your mind what you want.

On board they give you a list of what they sell and the price. We took it with us to compare when shopping in Nassau. Most were very close, but if you want to drink it on board, then you have to buy it in Nassau since you don't receive on board purchases until the night before you leave.
