Hi,

We'll be traveling with our DD (6 years old) and were wondering if booster/child car seats are required in FL?

Thanks.

If I am reading this right, and I'm not sure that I am but I THINK it is stating that a seat belt meets the requirement for ages 5 and up. So no booster, but hopefully a FL native can answer this better for you and me! As we are currently trying to figure out how to check in three booster seats without having to pay for a second checked bag at the airport. Adding a booster to our car rental will make it go up about $150!!!

316.613 Child restraint requirements.--

(1)(a) Every operator of a motor vehicle as defined herein, while transporting a child in a motor vehicle operated on the roadways, streets, or highways of this state, shall, if the child is 5 years of age or younger, provide for protection of the child by properly using a crash-tested, federally approved child restraint device. For children aged through 3 years, such restraint device must be a separate carrier or a vehicle manufacturer's integrated child seat. For children aged 4 through 5 years, a separate carrier, an integrated child seat, or a seat belt may be used.

I'm not very good at "legalese", but I'm think you may be right...

Thanks for the info.
