Hi,
Need a quick answer as we leave Thursday AM. We are traveling with a family with a 5 year old. They wanted to bring her booster seat for the rental car but started reading restrictions on Delta and now think they may need to bring her full size car seat. Can we just bring the booster seat and put it in the overhead? She doesn't need it for the flight.

thanks,
Cathy

Yes, you should be able to put it in the overhead.

Put it in a bag and either check it or at least gate check it. Why take up valuable overhead with a car seat AND on a lot of planes it won't fit.

They will allow you to gate check it, but most likely they will not allow it on the plane. If you check it (either at the gate or with checked luggage) be sure to put it in a bag. You will need a very large duffle bag (and that's ust for the seat part), or they can give you a plastic bag where you check your luggage. We gate checked a booster without a bag on our last flight and it came back missing an armrest cover. I didn't even think about putting it in a bag or taking off the covers, but I will be more careful next time.
