Booster Seat Comparison

I'll be needing a booster seat for my soon to be 5yr old for this trip. I was wondering what people's opinions are on Britax and Graco brands. I'd want one that converts from full back to just the seat.

I know Britax makes one that does (Monarch???) and one that is strictly full back. I think Graco has a few different ones out there. I know Britax is a good brand (we have the marathon carseat), but my daughter will be upgrading into that for this trip, hence the need to boot out older brother into booster seat).

We have the Graco full back that removes. It is the one that comes in red and black. (I know, I am so helpful). We like it alot. Easy to use and my kids like the cupholders.

We still use it with the back, since the kids are too small for the backless seat. The removal seems to be pretty easy, too. I just glanced at the directions for removing the back and DH assembled them, so again, not so much with the help here.

I think I know which graco seat you're talking about . Thanks, I needed feeback on that one. Also, do you have trouble with the back detaching by itself when you want it to stay on?

No, once it is on the seat of the car, it stays pretty well. I think you have to unscrew the back to get it to come off completely.

They are a bit of a pain to carry though...the back flops around if you don't hold it right. On the upside, it straightens(picture a recliner that goes completely flat) when it is not in the car, so it would be easy to lay on top of luggage or whatever, and fits in the trunk easily when not being used. Which is a big thing for me, since I have a Saturn ION.
