My DD is 4 y/o aprox 40 lbs. She still is required to use a booster seat in our car @ home. Is she required to use the booster seat in the air? I didn't even think about this. I guess it would be wise to bring it along d/t the fact that we will have a car take us to the airport and from the airport to the hotel ect...

Any one know the rules re: car/booster seats???

The airlines do not require you to have your daughter in a car/booster seat. This past Nov. our 2 year-old son was fine in the regular airplane seat with the seatbelt. My DH did not want to lug the car seat through the airports. So the decision is totally up to you. Have a great trip!:sunny:

I don't know the booster seat rules once you get to Florida. I made my 40lb DD use hers in the cab to the airport and the rental car anyway.

The relevent rule on the airplanes is that they only allow car seats that have an FAA approved sticker somewhere on them.

The shoulder strap adjusting booster seats that do not have a built-in harness are NOT allowed. You can check them. That's what I did with my DD's. On the trip down it was raining, so I asked for a bag to put it in. On the way back the weather was fine and they tossed it on the belt just the way it was.

The only problem I had was that DD kept playing with the buckle on the airplane so I had to keep re-latching it.
