BOOOO! Do you believe in ghosts?

My story will remain between a Ouija board, my friends and I...needless to say - I haven't used one since...

but to answer the OP's question....YES!!

I always did. My Mom died when I was 22. I had given up smoking a few months months before her passing. A few years later I pick up the bad habit again, and I carried the ashtray around with me at home so I could empty it before DH came home from work. One night I couldn't find it! I know I had used it all day long....only in the kitchen and livingroom. We moved a few months later and I still couldn't find it.

Years later, I was divorced and living with my 2 kids in an apartment. Things were getting stressful...DS was 14 and DD was 11. We had to move and I was having a hard time finding another place to live. One night while asleep, I suddenly woke up and felt a presence next to the side of the bed I was facing. A voice said "everything will work out, don't worry". Next morning I immeadiatelyremembered it and felt that it was my Mom's presence and she was telling me to stop worrying.

A few years after that, I dreamt of my Aunt Mary telling me to call her. She lived in another state and I felt ominous about the dream. I called a few times with no answer. I figured she was in the hospital again as she had a chronic illness for years. Finally my uncle answered and told me Mary had died a couple weeks back. He said they didn't have my number....but that's another story.

Hey, Regis & Kelly must be reading The Dis because they talked about this subject today. Regis asked Kelly is she believes in ghost and she said yes then told him a story about her deceased Grandmother. Then she asked Regis and he said yes, and I think he said he has seen a ghost but I can't remember for sure.
Regis has apparently seen a ghost. He is said to have seen one when he accompanied ghost researcher Hans Holzer to the Whaley House in San Diego many years ago. This was long before he was as well known as he is now.

These stories are definitely interesting! I have visited many haunted places and have seen a few things that I can't explain such as a light turning itself off in an old plantation house (the switch moved in front of me) and such things. I have never seen an actual spirit though, at least not yet!

The place I used to work at and the place my dd still works at had a ghost. He used to knock things off the shelf (it was a small store so you knew what was where) expecially herbal tea. Also, a favourite thing was to hide the portable phone. You never knew where it would be. It was an earlier version so the "find" button only worked for a second so you would have to push the button and run to the front if there was only one of you in the store. We had a cow bell on the door so that we could tell if someone came into the store and often when you were all alone it would ring and you would "see" someone go to the other side of the store behind some shelves. You would go and look so you could serve the "customer" and no one would be there. Other products would fall (only products that wouldn't break) but mostly the herbal teas. If there were too many things happening in one night we would tell him (we had a name for him) to knock it off for the night and come back the next night, and he would.

While visiting the Whaley House, last year, DH and I were talking to the night curator. He was showing us a bunch of ghost pics, on his camera, that he had taken the night before. He told us about Regis visiting there. Regis had come with a production crew and insisted on them being locked in for the night. Martin (the curator) told him that he probably shouldn't, if he didn't have any experience with such things. But, Regis insisted, so he obliged. At about 2am, Martin got a call from a frantic Regis demanding that he come and let them out. He'd seen enough and never wanted to return!! LOL!!

Not sure if I believe, but I have had strange experiences.

When I was about 4 years old I was sleeping in my Aunt's basement in my cousin's, who was away at college, bedroom and my parents were sleeping upstairs.

During the night, I woke up and I saw a little dark haired boy at the foot of the bed. He told me to go upstairs to my parents. I got out of bed and turned around to find out who he was, and he was gone. I went upstairs and slept with my parents. During the night there was a fire in the basement. It wasn't very big and the smoke alarm went off and my uncle put it out before it got very big. But it was still very weird.

Another time, my DH and I were staying at a local "haunted" hotel and when we woke up, all the glasses had fallen off of the table and a glass of water had tipped over. Neither of us had gotten up in the middle of the night, so I have no idea how they could have gotten from the back of the dresser to the floor, while the vase stayed on the dresser.

One creepy thing about this whole thing is that if there ARE ghosts, does that mean they are watching us right NOW??? Does that mean they see me sitting her nekked on the PC?? I mean, I don't really want my grandfather looking over my shoulder while I read a steamy novel:eek: . hehehe. Some privacy here please, ghost people!
