Anbyone have experience with booking with Disney Sports Travel? My sons travel baseball team may be coming to ESPN next year for a week long tournament. I read that we would have to book packages thru them and our hotel options are: All Star Sports or Carribean Beach. Any tips or experiences, please advise.

I had recently looked into booking with them for a race that I want to do there. The down side to it when I was going to do it was that it didn't include a food package and dining couldn't be added in. The price was actually about the same as a regular sale package that did include dining. I'd suggest if you are able to book outside of the sports package, to look into if you can get it cheaper. It may just have been the deals/specials that they had going on when I was looking, but it's worth looking at.

Well that stincks. I am used to buying DVC points and staying at Deluxe places for the same amount I would pay at the moderate or even values. I also always buy the dining plan. Hum, looks like alot will have to be thought of .

I would suggest talking to your son's coaches. They might want all the boys staying in the same resort to make it better for pre- and post-game meetings and events. The team or tournament organizers may also have a commitment to sell a minimum number of Disney Sports packages.

If the team or tournament organizer doesn't absolutely require you booking thorugh Disney Sports, I would get the best deal possible (through Disney Sports or not) in the resort preferred by the coaching staff.

When we took our then 13-year old baseball team back in 2000 and again when he took the 13-year old team he coached in 2009, you had to stay at one of the resorts with one of the packages they had (for us it was the All-Star Sports or Caribbean; we chose the All-Star Sports and transferred as soon as the tournament was over because we did not care for it at all). The packages had to have a certain number of people in a room and included park tickets; no dining was offered.

I think our team will probably pick Carribean Beach over All Star Sports. That stincks on the dining. You would think you could add it on if you wanted to when you get there or before hand. I love the dining plan as I am very organized about our dining reservations, etc.
