Booking with AAA

I just became a member of AAA and have never done this before. Do you have to go to the AAA place and book it through them or can you call Disney and give them your membership number and receive the discount? I have been going to WDW for many, many years and have never gotten a discount and have no clue how to get one....any help or advice would be appreciated!

You can book through Disney and get the AAA room only discount. But to get a AAA discount on a package, it has to be booked through AAA.

If you are just doing a room only you can book with Disney using your AAA membership for a discount. If you are booking a package with dining plan you have to go through a AAA travel agent to get the discount. At least that's what the Disney CM told me last week.
