I have just booked a Fly/Drive with Virgin for next September to Orlando.
I was told that six months prior to departure I can ring up and reserve seats on the plane.Does anyone know the best seats to try for. There will be five people in our party and we want what every else does and thats more leg room. Any tips would be welcome.

Thanks

You need to call Virgin Atlantic 180 days before your outward flight and then again 180 before your homeward flight. You also book any childrens meals at the same time.

The number is:

01293 747205

Thanks Goofyish.
Has anyone an idea of what numbered seats to go for?

i came home on sunday and we had the middle 4 seats in row 30 which were bulkhead seats which gave more room

i wouldn't have wanted to be sat in the "normal" seats as they looked very cramped especially as i'm 6'2"

i would definitely look at the prices to upgrade to premium economy for future flights as i'm pretty sure they're lower for next year

Neilybealy,
its a nice idea to upgrade but I have just got off the phone to Virgin and they quoted me £330 per person to upgrade to Premier Economy which is way too much.

The ones near the back are good where it is 2-4-2 as opposed to 3-4-3. See Virgin Seating Plan for a plan. The planes from Gatwick to Orlando appear to be all 747-400 now.

Did they let you book those bulkhead seats in row 30 in advance? When I booked our tickets I said that I wanted bulkhead seats as we are travelling with a 2 yr old and I was told that I couldn't reserve them, just pot luck on the day. Does anyone know anything about this?

we could only reserve 1 bulkhead seat because we had a 7 month old baby which needed a skycot

when we arrived at twilight checkin we found out we actually had all 4 bulkhead seats in the middle
